Stem cells used in research and surgery uauslly come from human embryos. Stem cells can be grown from adult tissues, but these stem cells do not seem to last for long, nor can they develop into a wide variety of cell types. Thus most of the stem cells in use for research come from embryos or fetuses. Stem cells often come from embryos that are\"left over\"from in vitro fertilization--artificial fertilization. They can also be taken from aborted fetuses. Some people think that using stem cells can lead to a disregard for human life.Opponents think of stem cell research as similar to murder. They worry that some day, people will become pregnant for profit.

Bryan needs $100,000 for his transplant and follow-up medical care. If he has the transplant, Bryan would be the eleventh person in the USA to receive a transplant for Crohn\'s disease. The previous ten patients no longer suffer from any symptoms of Crohn\'s.

Stem cells used in research and surgery uauslly come from human embryos.

Stem cells can be grown from adult tissues, but these stem cells do not seem to last for long, nor can they develop into a wide variety of cell types.

Thus most of the stem cells in use for research come from embryos or fetuses.

Stem cells often come from embryos that are"left over"from in vitro fertilization--artificial fertilization.

They can also be taken from aborted fetuses.

Some people think that using stem cells can lead to a disregard for human life.

Opponents think of stem cell research as similar to murder.

They worry that some day, people will become pregnant for profit.

Bryan needs $100,000 for his transplant and follow-up medical care.

If he has the transplant, Bryan would be the eleventh person in the USA to receive a transplant for Crohn's disease.

The previous ten patients no longer suffer from any symptoms of Crohn's.
