How is Beowulf an ideal member of his society?
Well, in this poem, Beowulf is a hero of a Germanic tribe from southern Sweden called the Geats. He travels to Denmark to help defeat a terrible monster. The story depicts a Germanic warrior society. In this society, the relationship between the king (leader or ruler) and his warrior is very important. Their relationship is one of provision and service. Beowulf defend the interest of the king and the king, in return, provides material goods.
