辯字~moral vs. ethic

請大家看看以下我摘錄的一段文字:

It's not enough to say that I, as an authority who have thought long and hard about this, declare that human cloning should never occur. That's a moral statement, it's not an ethical statement.

可見得"ethic"跟"moral"雖在電子辭典裡是相同解釋,但是在國外卻有不同的定義,可以請高手指導以下這兩個字的不同處好嗎,謝謝!!

'MORAL/IMMORAL' applies to situations/actions/behavior/character which are considered to be acceptable/unacceptable by your local (whether country or state) society's opinions.

(e.g. Generally, old people in my town believe it is immoral to have sex before marriage.)

'ETHICAL/UNETHICAL' applies to situations/actions/behavior which are idealistic world standards of 'right' and 'wrong'.

(e.g. Many people believe that testing on animals is unethical.)

I cannot see how somebody's character can be unethical.

    If anybody can, please post.

    Do you get it?
