An old English proverb says “there is no place like home.” This saying is indeed full of truth. I am native of a place that surrounded by the sea. There are distinguished four seasons and magnificent views. Besides, traditional Chinese culture makes it even more valuable. It is my hometown -Taiwan.
Taiwan is an island located in the southeast coastland of China, in the middle between Philippine and Japan, and facing Mainland China to the west. Taiwan enjoys a balmy climate with moderate temperatures, a reputation as “Formosa”, a beautiful island. Unique natural scenery combined with the culture scenic spots makes my hometown a place with features of beauty and spirit.
With diligent people, Taiwan has developed into one of the most cultured and economically powerful country in Asia, thanks to the rapid and healthy growth and development of economy, culture and social civilization. It is implementation of modern education system that makes it a country of education, science, and technology. Furthermore, Taiwan is also renowned for its improvement in computer and electronic science.
Not only the improvement but also the beauty of culture makes Taiwan a lovable place. Inherited from the Chinese tradition, my hometown is a place that people can experience the excellent humanist and culture relics. In addition, we can see the most precious Chinese treasures here and associate with people educated with Confucianism. Major festivals, including the Lunar New Year, the Dragon Boat festival, and the Mid-autumn festival, always bring wonderful memories to people who visit Taiwan.
Traveling to many different countries, I still consider my hometown the most vigorous place. Combined with modern technology and traditional social tradition, Taiwan exhibits a unique characteristic. With kindhearted, warm and considerate citizens, Taiwan, I would say, will always be one of the most idyllic and livable places in the world.Source(s): 自己寫的
