on,on top of, above的不同?

誰可以告訴我on,on top of, above的不同?

Use "on" when there is a physical contact between subjects.

Ex: The book is on the table.

Use "on top of" when you want to emphasize it's at the highest point.

Ex: The bird is on top of the tree.

Notice that we don't say "the book is on top of the table" because there is only a level for the table. But, there is difference in height for trees, buildings,...etc.

Use "above" when there is obviously no contact at all.

Ex: The sky is above us.

    I'm sitting on the table.

I'm standing on top of the mountion.

There are a lote of dead fish above the sea.
