What is efficient in a fight is to end it quickly by every means available. There is no efficient fighting style. Adopting a style is to eliminate options that don't conform to the style.

The most efficient would be the one which allows you to avoid its use. The ability to turn aggression to peace is THE most effective weapon and fighting style.

I am pretty sure that is not what you are wanting to hear but it is the only correct answer.

I'm a fighter and the most difficult style to contest for me is the 'Drunken Master' style. It's one of the most difficult styles to learn and requires tremendous balance to do. It style is as it's name, the fighter looks drunk and stumbles around. However due to the old movement it is very difficult to tell the center of balance because it continues to shift in this style. This makes evading a drunken master's attacks difficult to do. At least that is my personal experience.
