A berm is a retaining wall or a pile of sand that is used to hold something back or block something. So a sand berm would be used to hide things in the desert. At a shooting range they have soil berms behind the targets to kepp the bullets from traveling.

A sand berm is a pile or mound of sand. In nature, it forms a natural hill usally found in deserts or at the beach. It can be caused by water or the wind. U can build a berm of sand to also make ur own backstop for any reason such as catching out of control car ans trucks at the end or sides of racetracks, or to stop runaway trucks when their brakes fail at the end of long downhill runs on the interstates. lots of def. for "SAND BERMS"
