Cointreau is a much lighter liqour, clear in color and medium in strength of flavor.

Grand Marnier is a much heavier mouthfeel, deep orange in color, and heavy in the strength of flavor.

Cointreau is used more for mixing while Grand Marnier is used more for an after-dinner apertief.

Night and Day. Grand Marnier has whole lot more flavor and i use it always for mixed drinks or in a snifter warm. There is not that much difference in price.
