A combo drive simply means it can read CD'S OR DVD's, if it's a burner, then it can burn both.

A combo drive is any drive that can handle more than one type of removable media. Some are drives that can handle CDs and DVDs, others can read and write to different types of flash memory formats.

oceanviewbeahbum isn't entirely wrong, though he misses the point a bit. A combo drive is a drive that can read cds, read DVDs and write cds. if it only read CDs and DVDs but doesnt write CD's, it's simply just a DVD drive. Nothing more, nothing less.Ciao
