Can I use real fur as a prop for baby photography?

I have an old fur coat that I'm planning to make into a throw. It's so beautiful that ideally I'd love to use it for my newborn photography. The actual fur itself is in excellent condition, but old. If I get the fur cleaned, do you think this would be ok to put a newborn on?

You cannot really see my profile picture, but it was taken by a friend who does baby and child photography here in New Zealand. She has thousands of props in her studio, and one such prop is an old sheep wool rug. This is used in my photo. Really, the focus will be on your bub and not the rug. If the rug looks bad, simply try something else. People will not be looking at what baby is laying on, if you focus on baby correctly :-)

    IMHO, why not ?

If it's clean it wouldn't be any worse than anything else.
