Okay, so the Google keyword planner is a bit different from the external tool. First off, you now need an account. Then all stats are now based on exact matches. You now have insights as part of the keyword stats. to use it, simply enter any seed keyword you would like to research on (first option) or evaluate based on the search volume and other stats (second option). In a way, it is the same with the old tool, they just separated options for researching and evaluating keywords.

You can use Keyword Snooper to find hundreds of long-tail keywords in seconds, save them to your hard drive, and access them anytime you wish. Choose from the several keyword sources, add as many keyword projects as you need, filter out the keyword list, add prefix or suffix, replace or remove words, save the keyword lists to file, add keywords from file, and replace words in the keyword phrases. Quickly examine the trends for one or more keywords, export your keyword list in a .csv file format, import keywords to Google Keyword Planner and get the monthly search volume and competition level for each keyword.
