You go to jail for being dumb enough to try it.In this day and age with the school and campus shootings everyone is on edge in the first place. A "Toy" or look-a-like gun has no legitimate business being carried by anyone for any purpose in public. If it needs to be transported it should be wrapped up so people are not going to know what it is.It's just foolish to take that chance. Any confrontation with the Police if you live through it and don't get shot they won't take the time to check or care what you are carrying if it resembles a "real" weapon of any kind. Orange tip or not. To purposely paint an orange tip on a real weapon is just another moronic act of someone is isn't right in the head, and they deserve what happens to them, however bad it is. The point is NO ONE will be laughing or think it's funny......

It's kinda common sense... if you take off a red cap of an airsoft gun it could be easily mistaken for a firearm. There is no need to paint red/orange on a firearm because first off all, it's not like you will have it in public. You will only be using it where you are supposed to like at a range or hunting, so there is no reason to paint on it.
