Do you need a website, or can you just have a landing page by itself?

A landing page is just one page of a website! Of course you can just have a landing page: but WHY??

A landing page is where you have a link or advertisemet on someone else's site and you optimise the page that the advert links to on your site. If you are selling something via an ad you want the incoming visitors, from that ad, to be presented with a very good page, just for them. Rather than any website page (like Home page or something)

I guess you can have only a landing page. In that page, that would serve you to gather emails, ab test your idea. Also determine which value proposition is most appealing to people coming to your page. And gathering emails is quite a good argument in front of investors. For example some landing pages (or "we are coming"page) perform like crazy so get to know how they do it.

But keep in mind that it is quite risky as the audience you get might not be your target audience, so careful lon what you analyse and how you do it. Anyway optimizely is a good tool and they might have a free plan.

Anyway last word, a landing page almost costs nothing (with some hacks) so it's worth it to try your idea...

Ofcourse,you need a website. Landing page is just a single webpage which can convert more leads to customers and redirect them to your main website. So, it's just like a pocket and the funnel is your website.
