I guess you will graduate with some general marketing knowledge on how to make a little bit of this an a little bit of that but with limited special skills; just some experience that you have collected while working on course projects.

Three major career paths are in front of you:

1.Marketing Research specialist > Assistant > Manager : You have to conduct secondary and primary market research. It could be anything from defining objectives, through collecting and analysis of data, to presentation to the client.

2.Marketing communications/advertising specialist. You need excellent communication skills and ability to capture the essence of the brand/product and convey the message to the target audience. This might involve some creative design skills if you are part of the creative team.

3.Sales professional. This could be anything from telemarketing to B2B account manager.

To get some idea on what the market is looking from marketing professionals check these web sites:

(keep in mind they are project bids from freelance professionals and are several times less paid than office jobs)

    Elance: http://www.elance.com/p/landing/providersalesmarke...

My advice - focus on the area where you scored best and develop your skills in that area.

My advice: Learn Copywriting! If you become proficient at writing copy for the web, you automatically:

    a. radically increase your ability to earn in your own business

    b. become incredibly more valuable to any company that hires you, including pure brick and mortar firms.

    c. acquire the skills that fit into almost ANY niche in marketing: ad agencies, consultants, small business advisory services. etc.
