First, understand slavery in America was started by blacks. The first court recognized slave owner in America was a black man named Anthony Johnson in the 1620 s. Coincidentally enough, the 2nd slave owner in America, who was considered the "father of slavery in America" is, was a servant of Johnson named John Casor.
So, no, whites didn t bring slavery on to blacks. In fact, over 30% of the slave owner southern plantations were all owned and operated by black slave owners. Something you didn t see in the liberal literature.
As for racism-- there s no such thing. What you are really referring to is "Tribalism". Blacks operate in their own subculture-- they are out side the normal tribal "white" culture of America and, therefore, are not considered "One of us". Tribalism is humanistic, it can t be bred out or taught out, it is apart of our survival tactic.
Finally-- for segregation. Segregation was started by the democrats. The republicans fought hard to free the slaves, 100 s of thousands of them dying in the process. However, liberal presidents and politicians fought hard to keep some semblance of control and they did this threw segregation. Republicans fought hard to end segregation, too, and ultimately winning under the leadership of the well known registered republican and conservative, Martin Luther King.
