Now by "we" do you mean Americans in general...or Natives...or all of the above?

Natives should be the ones to set the guidelines, we haven't really been given our say in...well, anything the government or any other group has "secured" for us in the past, and we have been given the short end of the stick everytime: crappy land, crappy health care, crappy schools, crappy treatment, etc.

The future of all tribes is in the hands and minds of our children.Today so many of these children identify themselves as losers knowing the history of what the Whiteman was able to do to their forefathers.It is impossible to change these historical facts, but there must be change and it must begin today. They must see the President of the United States apologize for what the government has done to the Indians to begin restoring the Indian's dignity Do you realize how it would make any child feel to see his father beaten to the ground and spit on by a mob because of his race? It would become a part of his identity that he would feel shame for, for the rest of his life. All forms of segregation must be abolished no matter how important it seems to have such things as segregated Indian Schools or hospitals. It will be a monumental task to be done over many years, but the reservations lifestyle must be abolished too. They Indians must be allowed to develop a modern lifestyle on the land that is rightfully theirs.

the white man is trynna make the indians forget everything theyve done to them in the past by giving them all this acknowledgment and deep down inside native americans still hate them, i know this because i am half native american.
