Michelle J: Did you THINK before answering? Women take these definitions TOO FAR. Socially-acceptable retaliative body language is completely acceptable.
I can't believe you just grouped 'Silent Treatment' along with 'Emotional/Psychological Abuse'. Silent Treatment is usually a *defense*. And both men AND women do it.
Psychological/Emotional abuse refers to, (where women are concerned) the deliberate distortion of the human psyche. Anything you do to cause a person to become MENTALLY UNSTABLE.
For example, telling your wife that she is inferior, or telling her that she is **** without you, REPEATEDLY qualifies as psychological abuse. This is also frowned upon by wider society, so honestly it's not like people promote it.
But if I say "Wife, that was really dumb." after she does something that was indeed, pretty dumb, that is not psychological abuse. It is blunt, unrefined, altogether effective, yet inappropriate communication.
Her mental state is not compromised.
One of the biggest problems is that feminists are not as intellectual as they believe, and they cannot really DEFINE the terms they wish to discuss, and therefore they can;t place proper boundaries over the definition domain of the problems they want to combat.
This is worsened by equally intellectually stunted men and judges, and people who are easily emotionally swayed, rather than persuaded by sound logic. So you see foolishness like women defining a law, and pushing it with everything they have, when and causing damage due to HUGE generalizations.
And they always back their foolishness with some emotional statement like: "ZOMG...TEN POINT ZERO ZERO FIVE MILLION women are BURNED to DEATH EVERY ZERO POINT EIGHT TWO FIVE MILLISECONDZ!!!"
