I'm half-Italian, living in America, and it saddens me to see the state a country I love so much is in. Can this change? Do you think all of Italy's young generation will leave? I know that sounds absurd, but I feel that this is happening, and if the corruption stops then this will too stop, and those...

At least we can rest assured that Silvio Berlusconi is out of office. Unfortunately its going to be a while before the culture of corruption changes in its political establishment. I do happen to have some faith in Italy's reigning technocrat in chief Mario Monti. It's my hope that he will be able to use this opportunity to make the difficult changes that need to be made to revitalize the Italian economy. Sometimes it takes a political outsider to make the tough decisions necessary for the good of the country and the European economy as a whole.
