Is new York really racist and segregated?

OK so say I wanted to move to New York, and so did my two friends. I am black, one of my friends is Asian and the other is Mexican. I was reading something online and they were saying that New York is the most segregated place in the world! Also they were saying that there is a lot of racial tension and racists. OK...

New York "State" does have some segregation, but New York "City" is very diverse. That's not to say that there aren't black or Spanish neighborhoods, but NO. you will not be harassed walking through Chinatown if you are Mexican or fall victim to racial slurs if you are black. NYC is a huge melting pot. The gang situation is not like in California. Yes, they exist, but they dominate the news headlines.

New York City is diverse but it is by no means a racially harmonious place, in fact the coastal cities and NYC that the media claims to be tolerant of different people is just as prejudiced as any country town in the South or Midwest. I saw a cop pull over an Asian woman today, and he had his hand placed on his holster, I have no idea how a 100 pound Asian woman with three young children in the backseat of a car would be a threat to a 6 feet tall 200 pound + white cop. I am sure if she was white the cop would be a lot more relaxed or would not even pull her over. If that is the way he treats a small Asian woman for a traffic stop, I wonder how he views black men.
The thing about New York is people claim to be liberal and therefore tolerant but in practice and in the real world they are a bunch of in the closet racist bigots. If you are a white person you will have few problems in New York but if you are other race expect problems, mostly people will be behind your back racist, not to your face.

There are very few neighborhoods that are 100% of any race/ethnicity. You're not going to find any 100% Black or 100% White or 100% Asian neighborhoods. A lot of them will be something like 70% White, 15% Hispanic, 10% Asian, and 5% Black (or just switch the numbers around, so it could be 70% Hispanic, 15% White, 10% Black, 5% Asian, or 70% Black, 15% Hispanic, 10% White, 5% Asian. You get the idea).

Plus, there are areas that are very diverse (say 25% of each group, or close to it).

But even if you go into an area that's 90% White or 90% Black (there are a few areas like that), I doubt anybody's going to beat your friends up solely because of their race. Of course, there are racists, just like everywhere else, but they are a small minority. If you go into an all-White neighborhood, they might not like the idea of Black people in their neighborhood, but they'll leave you alone. Now, if it's a dangerous area, that's a different story, but even then, they will beat you up to rob you, not because of the color of your skin.

Especially in urban areas, there are so many people passing through that nobody gives a damn what you look like. Chinatown is 90% Chinese, but there are tourists and everybody passing through so the Chinese people don't care. Maybe in an outer borough neighborhood like Howard Beach, there may be some racists, but like I said there are very few.

Are you saying Mommy Professor is telling us lies in the service of turning all white countries and only white countries a different color via mass immigration and "assimilation"?

P.S This would explain why I keep hearing the phrase:"Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white"

Although our city has it's share of problems, but there is no racial or segregation here in New York City.

You can walk in China Town, Times Square,Little Italy, Spanish Harlem, Harlem, Murray Hill, Yorkville, Jackson Heights, Brownsville, Parkchester or any part of the five boroughs and have no problem.

This is a diverse city and police protection is on 24/7.

No...what year do you think it is? This isn't 1939 where only people of the same minorities hang out together or allowed to hang out together. Honestly, nobody cares. Yeah, there are still some crazy old racists around; but it's like that everywhere. New York City is a very accepting city and it's very liberal. Maybe you've been watching too much TV or something, but nothing you have said is correct.

NYC is a melting pot of different cultures and ethnicities. For the most part, nobody cares what race somebody else is. Obviously you have a few people who think they're better than others because of their race, but the majority of people don't care. I actually think that's one of the best things about the city.

It's racist for sure, but it's the foreigners living in New York City that you'll find are biggest c*nts. You'll be hard-pressed to find real Americans there. Also, the city is neatly segregated into ethnic neighborhoods with their weird customs.
