  • How much does a fishing guide spend per trip?

Best answer: A fishing guide usually does not belong to a union and that makes it difficult to pinpoint what they spend, charge, or profit. The expenditure varies depending on how they operate just like any other service contractor. Does the guide have to rent a boat, pay lake fees, or provide fishing equipment, or snacks? If so, then those things take from his profit. If he owns 100% of equipment after years of getting to the point of trimming all cost to increase take home pay indicates he is successful at his chosen occupation
A guide cannot take on several customers unless he can accommodate them with sizeable boat with toilet and maybe furnish equipment. A one on one service involves a customer that has bigger money to spend(and those kind are out there) so a large boat and several customers requires more spending and more work but a larger profit for the guide and better prices for the customers. Saltwater and freshwater fishing have much different prices also but you did not specify.

  • I want a fishing boat am I stupid?

Best answer: If you want to buy a fishing boat, buy a fishing boat. It has nothing to do with whether you're stupid or not. You might be stupid, you might not be stupid. People that ask how to spend thousands of dollars on recreational items on Yahoo Answers might fall into the first category.

  • Are treble hooks better than single hooks or vice versa?

Best answer: If you're getting bigger fish where you might be fighting them for a while (15 minutes or more), a treble can work loose because the fish's mouth is working against one point which can widen the hole the other point is embedded in, and given enough time, this can allow the hook to slip out. This is why people after marlin and bigger tuna use single hooks.

For smaller fish, this isn't an issue.
