• A dude messaged texted me off of eBay and wants me to accept his PayPal transaction and told me he’ll pay with friends and family.?

He doesn’t want to do the transaction on eBay. I know this is sketchy but aren’t I technically not losing anything because he can’t scam me this way?

  • Are Indians scammers actually calling from India?

Best answer: There are a couple of codes that you can use to block any call no matter where it is from and no matter if the number that shows up isn't the correct one. I am on AT&T and use it and it works great. I don't know if the other phone providers have this or not.

Best answer: The best Antivirus is You. You are the number one way to avoid infections. Most infections are user installed by opening malicious files. This is why some people claim they don't use protection and never get anything. The problem with that though is that some infections can happen without user interaction and this is why Antivirus/Antimalware is recommended. Antivirus programs use real time protection that can block infections before they can infect and can help detect malicious files before you can run them. Starting in Windows 8, Microsoft included a security program (AV) called Windows Defender. It is free and now works very well. It has multi layer protection with Real time monitoring and behavioral detection etc. I personally would recommend only using Windows Defender as your security. Installing any other AV will disable it. The exception is Malwarebytes Premium, though Defender must be running before starting Malwarebytes. This is how I run my computer security.

Because even if your Malwarebytes removes the threats, the program might try to re-download them.

Unfortunately, its hard to know exactly what program(s) could be causing this. Sometimes "free" programs will also download other programs while you're installing the main one.

I went to my computer and did as they told me which involved event viewer and showed me all the errors and warnings. And they had access to my computer and they asked me to pay $1.50 for the charge for them to do the work and they have my credit card information. Now I'm not computer savvy so when he told me it was very bad, I believed him. Anyway I searched online and I learned that it was a scam because something didn't feel right after I got an email from amazon that a different device tried to access my account and there was a payment on my account, which they cancelled after suspected fraud or unauthorized payment. I changed my password on my computer, amazon account , email address and I also cancelled my credit card and ask them to issue me a different one with different numbers. What else can I do to make sure nothing happenes to my computer or personal information?

Best answer: Nearly all the newer security systems have an option to use a keyfob (like your car) or use an app on your phone to disarm the system before you open the door. I suggest you stick to one of these methods to deal with your PTSD. The entire process of rushing to a keypad when you may even be carrying items or kids can be stressful \ inconvenient for anyone. In my case I have a garage and mounted a keypad for the house inside the garage so I can disarm the system before I trigger the countdown warning. Some commercial security systems (Napco Security) can be programmed to be completely silent or do a voice warning , but it's really unnecessary to go that route if you are not even using the inside keypad to disarm anything.
