I'm a professional artist, I have been for most of my twenties, and people more often than not expect me to do high quality work for free. And I know this is a common occurrence for artists of all ages and skill levels. What seems to be that separation between worth and cost is if people have heard or read about you, and they determine if you're worth paying for. I have people asking me to do comissions for them for free, and even willing costumers that want to pay, try to get the price down so low, it's not only not paying for the time and materials, but it degrades us and the effort put into the work. I was almost cheated out of a $200 sale from my own cousin, for whom I gave a fair discount to, and for a week, I thought he'd downloaded my work and gotten away with not paying for it. It was for a tee-shirt design he needed for a church group project. It took dozens of attempts to contact him and it wasn't until I threatened him that he got back to me with a horrible excuse. Why does this happen?

  • Circus Act? Is this cool?

I have this idea where I take origami animals and then eat them in front of a crowd. I know it sounds weird, but it's basically the opposite of someone putting their head in a lion's mouth. I could light them onfire and make a cool scene out of it. Would this be cool for an act? For a circus or maybe a... show more

Best answer: Many of the earliest works of art were sexual in nature. If people weren't such prudes in our modern era, most art would still be sexual.

There were carpenters coming and renovating my parents bedroom, so my mom placed her heirloom. which was a portrait of her great- grandparents in my room for safe keeping. When she went to take her portrait back, it accidentally got broken when she bend the portrait. The weirdest thing is, the portrait is oval shaped, and it pops out a little bit. My mom was panicking and crying that it wouldn't get fixed. The portrait is approximately 115 years old, could anyone help???? Thanks.

Best answer: It's not a primary color. It is a mix of primary and complementary colors. Don't remember which ones though.
