I am trying to convince my parents into letting me get a puppy. But they say I can’t because my other dog before didn’t work out. The other dog, Zues, was a rescue dog that was a year and about four months when we got him. He didn’t get along with my other dogs and my parents always would tell me to put him in my room so they won’t fight. He was energetic and still acted like a little puppy while my older dogs were 6+7 and the older one acts like a puppy on a day to day basis. Long story short, he ended up leaving a little tooth mark on my oldest dog and we had to give him back to the shelter. (Couple hours later he was adopted again) So ever since that, they would blame me on the whole incident even though I was at school when it happened, and they were at home working so I had no control over it. I showed my parents how responsible I am with my other dogs, walking, feeding, brushing etc, and at school with my grades and homework so I don’t see why I don’t deserve to have a second chance with a much younger puppy, rather then having a older dog wanting to become alpha of the house. My other dogs are amazing with puppies and my neighbors dogs so I don’t see having another dog would be a problem, but it could be. What do you guys think? Do I deserve a second chance?

On top of this, he barely got any exercise because it's been raining the last few days. Its an extraordinarily stupid mistake to make, and now I'm really worried that he could be at risk of pancreatitis or something like that. Will he be ok as long as he gets plenty of exercise over the next few days?

  • Can I take a hedgehog to a veterinarian in California?

So I really want to own a hedgehog. I have researched about them and I have the money to do it, however, they are illegal where I live. If I bought a hedgehog out of state it would be fine except that I would obviously need to take it to the vet. Will a vet clinic have to legally turn me in for owning the hedgehog?

  • How can Banfield inside(Petsmart)be considered a hospital?

The manager at Banfield inside Petsmart just told me they aren’t a hospital. She would consider them to be like your Primary Care provider. But they don’t do ER stuff and don’t have oxygen for animals. So I’m confused how they are able to operate under a hospital setting vs Clinic setting.

Inverts don't suffer, releasing is sending it to doom. Killing is the only other option.
I once rescued a preying mantis from a parking lot, poor thing went through a bad molt and his wings were deformed so could barely take flight. he went behind the building released in trees and shrub in hope he can fulfill his life.

So, I'm an animal person and I'm going to college in September 2018. Unfortunately, they won't let me keep anything bigger than a 5 gallon tank in my dorm. I've been considering African Dwarf frogs or maybe a betta, but I'd really prefer something that I could hold and pet. Not a huge fan of spiders, but I like pretty much all other animals. I'm also a hardcore snake fan. I'm willing to put in as much time and money as needed to provide optimal care for the pet. Also, since I only need 3 years for my degree (of which I may just live the first year on campus and the rest in an apartment, depending on what's available), I'd be open to the option of getting a pet that can live in a 5gal as a baby and then be transferred to a larger tank once I'm not living under dorm rules. Any/all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks <3
