• Is it bad for my laptop if I increase the number of cores?

Best answer: You can only use the number of cores the processor has, and the system does that by default. Thus you can't gain anything by trying to tweak it - there's nothing to tweak. You can, if you know what you're doing, for diagnostic purposes RESTRICT the number of cores used, but that's no good for you.

  • Need help with my Asus Laptop?

Best answer: If I read you right, your problem seems to occur when you have the fan plugged.in. Anything with a motor (including fans) can cause interference, especially if it is not well shielded - as is the case with some cheapo Chinese electrics. From that you know what the answer is, don t you?

But since you probably can't just replace the cable plus plug between transformer and laptop, you probably will have to buy a new power supply. I would take the laptop into the store and ask whether you can try out that a power supply fixes the problem, just to make sure the problem is not in your laptop (e.g. the socket you plug the power supply in or the connection to the socket). The store I usually go to will let me do that.

Best answer: Hello and thanks for your question!

Buying a new computer is always an exciting event and its really heartbreaking when it stops working as intended. Even though it is only a few months old, there is a possibility some of the hardware in it may have gone bad. The good news is most computer manufacturers typically have a 1 year warranty that covers the hardware.

Based on the symptoms and errors you have described, it is not out of the question that your hard drive or some other device is the reason for your laptops performance. Depending on where you bought it, you may be able to contact them about running diagnostics or at the very least you may be able to contact MSI support directly. If faulty hardware is discovered to be the reason, you should be able to get it serviced while its still under warranty.

However, the performance could also be due to operating system corruption or other issues like a recent update to Windows or to one of the drivers. The operating system could possibly need to be reinstalled as well. I would recommend contacting either MSI or your place of purchase ASAP so that it can be further diagnosed.

    I hope this has helped!

Its a small laptop where you can t just take the battery off if anyone suggests doing that. This isn t the first time it happens and the first time I took it to a repair shop and they fixed it. However before I do anything like that. This time, unlike before, I touched it and it did feel very hot so i may have overheated. If that s the case is it normal to do that when a laptop overheats and should I just leave it alone? Thanks

I am about to go to university, so this laptop will be needed for a lot of productive stuff, the usual student things (Office 365, a lot of stuff online etc.). Furthermore I ll be using it for things like Netflix, casual web browsing, YouTube, watching movies and things like those as well. I won t be needing it for gaming or video-editing. The specs I m not sure about are 8gb or 16gb of ram, although I have the feeling that 8gb is more than enough for the things I ll use it for, and if I should get a 4k screen or not. It s cool and all but I don t think it ll make that big of a difference. I have already decided I d like it to be an i7, preferably of the 8th generation, cause I like a laptop with very high speed.

In the off chance that lightning does strike your power line, your surge protector will stop the voltage surge from getting to your electronics. Even if your surge protector fails, most high end electronics (like laptops) have built in surge protection.

I've only ever had two laptops my entire life. This was an issue I have experienced with both but mainly with my "new" one (new to me but used in general). The whole screen will freeze and nothing can unfreeze it until I close the laptop and open it back up. Esc doesn't do anything, same with any of the other buttons. Unlike my other laptop where the audio would just keep playing or stop, on this one the audio blares into my headphones and it seems to play the same 1-2 seconds of audio over and over until I shut the laptop. It is truly bizarre. Anyway, is there a way to stop this?? I use Google Chrome by the way. That is my preferred browser. Not sure if that plays a role at all. Thanks in advance for all helpful suggestions :)

No chromebooks, no microsoft, etc. im a college student, and intend on using it for school (notes) as well as for just watching netflix on and for travel. I've had an ipad mini (first gen) in the past and its been fine until it stopped updating. Are there any major differences between the iPad 6th gen and the iPad pro that would make it worth the giant price difference? does anyone have any experience with the two? im sort of leaning towards the 6th gen because its significantly cheaper for the amount of storage I want and since I'm going to be using it alongside a laptop, I dont really see the need to pay extra to have it compatible with a smart keyboard. Also, does anyone have any experience using either of these ipads with goodnotes and/or noteability? thanks!

But does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you in advance.
