• How do I update my harddrive to a SSD?

I have an old 1tb harddrive, and I want to update the software to SSD. Do I do this in Windows? Or the BIOS? And where would I download the update? It's a Transcend harddrive but I can't find a link on the website.

  • My PC presents me with the BIOS screen and will not load windows automatically.?

Best answer: As "Chris" says - it needs a new battery on the motherboard.

They are usually a 2032 size lithium coin cell.

The time & date setting being lost is probably the reason for updates not working. It must be set accurately for various things to work as they should.

I put the documents onto the new laptop and that's fine however I can't open any of them. I assume it's because I don't have the same version of word as I would have had before. Does anyone know a way that I can convert or open the files on my new laptop? I now have windows 10 software and I previously had windows vista. And I previously had the proper Microsoft word, and now I have WPS which is a similar free version to word. Ps: I wouldn't need to edit the files, only to view and read them so they could be read only if nessecary. Thanks

Every month or so I accidentally type a key combination that reboots my computer, it's frustrating when I'm in the middle of doing something. Last time it happened I'm pretty sure I just pressed the windows key on my keyboard (to search for a program on my computer) and I thought I pressed "p" next. I might have been holding down the windows key accidentally, but I can't reproduce the behaviour. This time rebooted without asking, but I was only still just browsing, but I think if I had Outlook or Word open it would ask. I am running Win10 home (1803), and I have a Corsair K70 keyboard. I appreciate any help with this frustration.
