Hello All. Yesterday, my best friend (Check Engine Light) made his 7th visit within 6 months on my 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 5.3L. As soon as it came on, i knew exactly what it was. It was an ignition coil, being the same one that i have replaced 6 times now. I have replaced all of the coils, spark plugs, and their respective wires about a year ago, and they have all been rock solid, except for one. When I check the code, it appears as a (P0353- Ignition Coil “C” Primary/Secondary Circuit). What Would Be the cause for this repeated code? As I am very tired of having a misfire and burning excessive gas Mileage. Thank you.

  • Should I get my 2004 Chevy impala fixed?

I currently drive a 2004 Chevy impala with 116,000 miles on it. The gas gauge broke back in 2014, so since then I’ve just used “trip” to determine when to get gas. I’ve wanting to get this fixed for a while now, my mom said it’s not worth it because the car might not last super long because it’s older. It also... show more

That said, GM now only supports the use of Dexron Vl (6) in all their passenger cars & trucks with an automatic transmission, past & present.
Dexron Vl is backwards compatible with Dexron ll & lll, so there's no issue there, but the company who rebuilt your trans may have used updated parts and may require the use of Dexron Vl, so check the installation manual, or call the company before putting any fluid in.
I'll include a link, so if your new trans CAN use either fluid, you can make a more informed decision.

I bought a new 2001 Chevy Blazer, which my son now has been driving for the past 7 years. The trans fluid & filter have been changed on a regular basis, using only Dexron lll. While the 1-2 shift has been sluggish in the last 3 years or so, everything else with this ORIGINAL trans works fine. This Blazer has a 4L60e & turned 320,000 miles last week.

  • Why does Chevy have a habit of copying Ford?

Except the Camaro looks ugly because of the flat roofline and because it is wider giving it a boxy look. When you take a look at what the Camaro was in 2002. It was a big a-ss difference. It's clear Chevy decided to go with a Ford type of style on their Camaros. And even up to this Gen they are still trying to copy. Then now we have the Corvette. Chevy basically took Ford's Evo Concept and used it. Why do you think the Corvette looks similar to the Mustang when i comes to side windows? Take a look. Corvette - http://upcoming2017.com/wp-content/galle... Mustang - https://img.sm360.ca/ir/w640h390c/images... It's so obvious Chevy copies Fords design. Then do you really think i am not noticing something that is NOT a Chevy thing? That FAST BACK rear end ?! That is a FORD MUSTANG design !? It has never EVER been on any Chevies. Chevies have always used that old platform with the back oval windshield. Don't believe me? Search up the all the Corvettes expect the Stingray. Then now the Traverse. They copied Ford's Explorer. Except the Traverse looks so ugly. lol The new 2019 Silverado wants to be so hard the Raptor and F150 but it fails so miserably.

I got the 6 cylinder (more $) over the 4 cylinder model because I wanted to make sure I could tow my flagstaff forest river pop up camper safely (1300lbs) Now I’m thinking of getting another one, except a 4 cylinder as it will be cheaper and we really only Camp and tow the pop up 3-5 times a summer, usually within 3 hours of where we live and it’s mostly highway and back road travels and not usually up and down big old hills Will a 4 cylinder newer equinox with 1500lbs towing be ok for me?

  • 2004 Chevy Malibu overheating help?

I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu, lately it’s started to overheat but not getting into the red. When I’m driving the needle normally stays in the Middle but when I stop at a red light itll start to get hot. The fans work when I turn in the ac and it’s very cold unless I’ve been sitting the AC loses temp.

Best answer: Check for a vacuum leak. Check for a bad throttle cable. If everything checks good, tranmission is likely done.
