Best answer: To a certain extent that's what happens. It's called regenerative braking. As power is removed from the electric motors, those motors become the opposite of a motor, they become a generator, converting kinetic energy into electrical rather than the other way around. When power is removed from the motors, the car will continue to roll along under their own momentum, and that kinetic momentum will turn back into electricity. This will result in a loss of momentum, an the car will begin to slow down. In some cases, you can choose how much regenerative braking there will be, and the more you choose, the faster that the car will slow down, just like a brake when you apply more pressure to the brake pedal.

You will never recover all of the energy of the ride through regenerative braking. At best you can recover a few percentage, so you'll still need to recharge using the plug-in port.

What is this plate on this car's dash?

It's on a 1981 Camaro right by the VIN plate, I'm sure it has information like color codes and original build information but I'm not that well informed on how to read/decode this plate, especially when I don't know the name of it. If anyone could tell me what it's called or "decode"... show more

If anyone could tell me what it's called or "decode" any of what it's telling me (or at least tell me where to go to learn what all the numbers mean), that would be much appreciated.

Best answer: It doesn't look that way, no. And that's just one sector of the industry that's going to be devastated.

  • Are Camaros reliable?

Best answer: Recent ones have been doing well. Trouble years were 2010 (timing chain wear) and 2013 (radio problems). 2014 had keys getting stuck in the ignition switch, but not all that commonly.

Besides those trouble spots Camaros have been doing well for at least a decade.

  • What would you price a 1980 Camaro at?

Best answer: Unless you're looking for a "kit car" you'll have to do a boat load of work to I would pass on this car. It was a classic in the year 2000 and will be vintage in 2030 if it were all original and in mint condition. It was a classic in the year 2000 and will be vintage in 2030 if it were all original and in mint condition. In 1980 brand new that car sold for between $8000 max with almost zero miles on it. Sounds to me like it's had a rough life and at least 1 lazy owner that for what whoever knows used it to sell parts off of it. The 3.8L was a good motor but the condition it's in now depends on how it was cared for all of these years. Chances are it just sat by the way you described it, which is very likely just going to lead to issue after issue after issue with it. You will constantly be working on and fixing things that go wrong on this car, that's almost guaranteed. And finding parts for it isn't going to be the easiest thing to do because of it's age.

Pass. If he was only asking a few hundred for it, with all of the parts, then I would suggest considering it but would say the same thing about working on it all of the time.

  • Name and year of this car is?

Name and year of this car is?

Best answer: That vehicle is a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coup, with the optional front chrome bumper & grill guards, along with optional 265 cid V8 engine.

I would loose your bet. The closest would be my 1959 Oldsmobile Super 88, 4 door sedan.
