If you have the bucks, Coronado is the place to live. It has plenty of night life and great restaurants. And the houses are well kept. And now with the bridge, San Diego proper is just a few minutes away.

If you're short on cash, go to Imperial Beach. It too has plenty of night life and great restaurants. Lidia's on Palm was my favorite Mex place. Even places within walking distance of the beach are affordable.

  • Are there fun things to do in San Diego for free?

Best answer: Balboa Park is nice. Some of the museums are free. And there's a garden across the street from the zoo, as I recall, which is good for wandering around. I also enjoyed just checking out the sea life.

  • Where should I visit in California?

I'm looking for life experiences... traveling my own state, then other states, then other countries. I'm not necessarily looking for the purpose of fun/leisure/vacation but to meet other people, branch out of my comfort zone, and expand my perspective. Anything that will as VALUE to my life.

If you're looking for something inexpensive, visit the Gaslamp district in Downtown and maybe sample some restaurants. My pick, however, is Balboa Park, as there are lots of great museums to go to--some days out of the month, they're free admission, too! Old Town is also a fun choice, and it hosts good sights, good food, and good shopping.

You can also go to Point Loma and visit the Cabrillo Monument, which is close to the wate
Best place to eat is Buca di Beppo in downtown
