That being said, I still like to visit because it's a fun place - great seafood, the charm of the boardwalk, an outlet mall, etc. It's not that far from NYC, and the other shore towns in New Jersey can also be fun to visit. The Borgata is very nice (off the boardwalk) and has some great restaurants. Atlantic City does get some great shows and entertainers, but there aren't really any fixed shows like you see in Vegas.

it's the hood and seems wholly out of place situated right next to the affluent beaches communities. My question is, do you think it's high time for Arlington to incorporate and create its own police department?

Best answer: I don't live there but in another " elite " area. I'm guessing they gate it because elites want it all for themselves and are horrible to everybody else. Theres a huge population of wanna be elites who are never friends because they hate you for not being an elite and themselves for not being one yet, are incredibly cocky. There is no care for standard of life , quality of life for anybody but elites.
The environment becomes stale, stressful and hostile.
In LA the elites are beautiful, where I live the elites are ugly and plain dressers. I'd imagine in LA average people feel incredibly ugly.
