  • Why have just little retired pay in Thailand?

I was wondered why government doesn't help to old people? So if someone retried how he/she can pay bills, and food? Why Thailand doesn't try to help old people?

So now I ask can I just buy a refundable return ticket and then cancel last moment? Or is there a fine for this too? I'm having no luck finding any of this info online.

Going to Thailand soon and have various dietary requirements. I know you can bring stuff on the flight but could I say... bring a bag of carrots without having to throw them away once I get to Thailand. (Sorry random example).. :D Flying with British airways.

So i basically only have about a week in Thailand. Is there anything that is a must see in both of the cities mentioned above? I also really really really wanted to go to an island, as I have heard that they are breathtaking. But, I dont want to spoil my trip with excessive flying. I have heard that there are islands close to Bangkok, is there any island in particular that is beautiful but can also be a simple day trip event?

  • 105K salary in bangkok. Need information about living in Thailand.?

Best answer: You'd have to explain what currency you're talking about. 80K USD per year, or 80K Baht per month? Either way, it's plenty. You can get a 3brdm nice apartment downtown for about $2,000 USD per month. Can certainly do less, but $2k USD per month will get a decent place. Bangkok is a great place to... show more

Bangkok is a great place to live. It's really cheap. Lots of expats. Not everything is the red light district so don't worry, but you will have to interact with ladyboys in your day to day life. You'll most likely live in a condo though, and it'll be just like anywhere else on Earth. Families with kids at the pool, people complaining about taxes, just living life.

EDIT: Depends on how your HR does things. That said, 80K Baht per month leaves you just under 1,000,000 per year, so should be 20%. If you go over 1,000,000 you'll jump to 30%. Your housing shouldn't be considered as part of your income.

Best answer: I live here for over a decade and done a lot. For a young person is the place to come and party and enjoy the nightlife with friendly girls. Beaches in the south also attract large amounts of tourist. You can also find good cheap Thai food here. You can't go anywhere with seeing a food shop. Just know that Thai food can be very spicy so tell them without hot peppers if you can't handle them. They can do what you want including not putting peanuts in your food if you have a problem with peanuts.

Of course, Thailand is a tourist destination you will find many things to do. Just go to any travel agent in the area and they will have books full with activities.

Places to consider is Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai in the north, Udon, Nakhon Phanom or Korat, Of course there is Bangkok, sin city of Pattaya and Hun Hin in the central area.

Then the beach resorts like Phuket, Koh Tao, Koh Phi PHi, Koh Samui, and Krabi.

There just too much to write here. Google what to do in Thailand to get a good idea.

Also don't forget to visit many of the famous temples and never come to Thailand with taken a massage by a sweet young thing who will rub you the right way.

Hope this is a good start.

    Have fun.

I enjoy Bangkok, lots of food, nightlife and other male entertainment.
Pattaya, same and it's on the ocean, a bit busy and cramped. Lots of tourists and locals.
Hua Hin is on the ocean not as many food choices, it's more relaxed there. Not as many tourists. The water is aqua blue near the beach.
I would say Hua Hin for me. Though it's a 4 hour drive or bus to there from Bangkok.
Chiang Mai is supposed to be a great place, mountains and cooler temps, more nature. but, I like water and there are mountains behind Hua Hin too. Lots of variety there.

  • What to do during 21 hour layover at Bangkok?

Best answer: Sounds good. Can be done. Return to the airport early. I normally go out front on that long a layover. Take a small bus to a hotel. Eat street food. If you have a friend there. Let them tell you best way to get to them. & cost to do so.
