I am looking to relocate. I am in my early 20’s and am trying to decide where is the better place to live. I am attracted to the beach lifestyle of the Gold Coast but I am not sure if there is much to do apart from the beach? Brisbane city appeals to me as I feel there is more to do. In terms of nightlife, I am not looking for anything too extreme as I feel I’ve had my party days but obviously I would like the option there as every now and again I still like to go out! I’m a personal trainer so I feel it would be fine for work in either place. However I am looking to study something else in the new year. If anyone has lived in either of these places I would love to hear your thoughts! Pros and cons of each, things to do, safety, affordability! Thanks

  • Do you think some charities are suspicious?

I would be more generous if they were accountable and could prove that donations reach their intended recipients, for all I know the money could be siphoned into some crooks pockets.

Toronto has cloudy skies, rain, snow, ugly people, bad food, no palm trees or beaches, and the city is a combination of Detroit and Saudi Arabia. And the stupid Canucks like it. Lol Also the minority of whites in the Toronto area have dark hair and brown eyes.....look like Jews. Australia is paradise and Canada looks like an industrial wasteland.

Sky News Australia have received a lot of flack recently for allowing a neo-Nazi to go on a rant by using their channel as a platform for hate speech. Blair Cottrell has several court convictions for his behaviour and advocates Australian schools hanging posters of Hitler. He tweeted about his desire to rape Jayes, a female Sky News reporter, live on air. Sky News apologised for providing him with an interview and removed all future repeats from their schedule. That is understandable. The state of Victoria have gone one step further and banned Sky News from all of their train stations in Melbourne. They are censoring the whole channel because of one interview! That seems excessive to me. I know there is a growing problem with normalising far-right extremism in Australia. Several members of this forum brag about their radicalism, racism, sexism and fascism. These are all very dangerous ideologies but surely the best way to solve them is through discussion. The simple truth is that there are extremists in Australia and only by explaining to them that their ideas are illogical will solve it. Burying your head in the sand and pretending it doesn't exist will only make things worse. I'm not saying we should let mainstream news channels broadcast neo-Nazi propaganda but the response to it should be measured and reasonable.

Now- learning to name the parts of speech will NOT help you comprehend what you're reading. Reading is a skill that is developed through practice. You need to do a lot of reading of gradually more difficult material. Academic texts contain a lot of sentence with noun clauses, adjective clauses and adverb clauses. The sentence contain a lot of complex references and comparisons. Learning ABOUT grammar does not help you to comprehend those texts. Only practice can do that. You can look for advance ESL classes, or you can just do a lot of reading on your own.
