As a disclaimer, I am not trying to push my Biblical beliefs on anyone. That is not what I as a Christian am supposed to do, therefore I will not do it. However, I do have a question that has been boggling my mind for a long time; why is it that atheist can believe in theories such as The Big Bang, but not even CONSIDER the possibility of a God? For example, something that no atheist or person of science has been able to answer for me is this; why does everything work the way it does? Let me give you an example. If I were to ask, "Why do we not float away into space? How do we stay on earth?" You would respond by saying "Gravity." You are correct! But I am not asking the properties of it, or how it works; I am asking WHY does it work that way? Gravity does not have a brain. It is not acting that way on its own. So when it comes to things like that, why is it seemingly impossible to make an atheist see that critical point?

Many scientists believe that we have used over half of the air and the water which rides a horse and carriage through the myth that the Earth is older than 6000 years (if the Earth were 12,000 years there would be no air and water left). So how much have we used?

Best answer: I personally think Islam is even worse. In that it's even MORE violent, and abusive, and misogynistic! Christianity has, at the very least, sort of improved a bit, in terms of how people practice it. But it's still blatantly obvious to me that most Christians are good in spite of being Christians! Not because they're Christians! And that for many of them..? Christianity has, regrettably, succeeded in making them worse, more immoral versions of themselves! Same with Islam, too.

Just… Even people who seem mostly untouched by Christian dogma, yet adhere to that religion, by name? Can sometimes surprise you, when you see just how full of sh*t they are, and how much that dogma has already warped their minds! It's f*cking disgusting.. It's like an insidious virus, that gradually takes people over and corrupts them, over time! And.. sure.. Maybe you're one of those really kind people, whose morals can actually withstand such a virus infection! I know there are a few... But just: why the sodding hell would you ever willingly accept such a disgusting virus into your system, to begin with?! Beats me. So.. Right now, I actually feel pretty f*cking p*ssed at people who willingly choose to convert, when they already KNOW what that religion is about, and how f*cking vile it is! Like.. For me personally, I've already decided that that just ain't happening. Ever! And especially if you're a woman..? It's completely beyond me, why you would want ANYTHING to do with this disgusting, oppressive, moralistic piece-of-sh*t patriarchal religion, that's so set on depriving you of your power!

Angry rant is angry.. I'm feeling really angry, right now. Because I just read this comment from Truth Is Within You, who I used to respect. And I used to think he was just some harmless Christian mystic. Maybe a bit batty. But still an okay person.. But I see his true colors now, and he's actually a raging misogynist! Whose morals have gotten WAY more corrupted by Abrahamic religion than I ever f*cking realized! Who said in a prior question that the Christian notion of God, as being single-mindedly male, is not a problem, because "he/him" is somehow a NEUTRAL pronoun, now! And who commented on Me Too, by saying that WOMEN are the ones that should wise up, so they don't get abused! Emphasizing that it's also partially our fault, and blah-blah... Without even a single comment on: "yeah, actually men have a history of abusing women! That really sucks. And I really feel for those women!" NOTHING! WHATSOEVER! Piece of sh*t that he is.. But he's pretty good at hiding it, behind this wall of fake mysticism / pseudo enlightenment... And you know what..? I've f*cking had it with people like that, within spiritual communities, as well. F*ck him!! And f*ck people like that!

A female cannot get pregnant unless she has sex. So if she as the bible claims was a virgin then it is not actually possible. Was not Mary a good time party girl and Joseph an ignorant idiot? Mary could only be pregnant because she had sex with someone else. If Joseph hadn't been there someone else definitely had. Does that make Mary a liar and because of her actions not someone I should be bothered about. If Joseph believed her lies then how stupid was he? I have just met a new girl and we haven't yet got to sleeping together. If she came to me and told me she was pregnant I would have the common sense o realise if it wasn't me she must have had sex with someone else. How gullible do you have to be to believe the bible is a true account of events?

There was not enough time between the last major ice-age and the first evidence of mankind for evolution. If you are Godless, which is a mistake but I digress, then your next best answer is we were planted here by intelligent life, oh..about ten thousand years ago or so, give or take. And on day one, we knew to dress ourselves and cook our food, while monkeys STILL swing from trees. Evolution was a fabricated story, and has no actual proof.

  • Christians do you think that God wants you to use his personal name? see the details.?

Best answer: Yes, I believe God wants us to use his personal name. He seems to have had a point telling it to us. Even before Moses stood at the burning bush, the Hebrews knew God’s name. Why, the name of Moses’ mother, Jochebed, incorporates God’s personal name. The names of many of the prophets incorporate God’s personal name. As you mentioned, his personal name appears in his own Bible – the Hebrew scriptures – literally thousands of times. In the prophetic book of Ezekiel alone, the phrase “and they will have to know that I am Jehovah” appears about 69 times.

God’s personal name was used by the ancient Jews in daily living; hence, Ruth used it, Naomi used it. Even Boaz, Ruth’s future husband, used God’s name in his greeting: “Good day, may Jehovah be with you.” The entire nation of Israel constituted a people for God’s name. Why, even Exodus 9:16 tells us why the True God had not yet destroyed Pharaoh: “In order to have my name declared in all the earth.” Did that happen?

According to Rahab, yes. It already had a good start. Consider, please, Joshua 2:10: “. . . because we have heard how Jehovah dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and ʽOg, whom you cut down without quarter.” The Tetragrammaton appears here. Rahab and her people did not hear about the Lord – they heard about God by name!

Some people have an issue over the pronunciation or the spelling. How curious While it is true that we do not know the vowels that go with the name, though Jehovah did not preserve the vowels (ancient Hebrew was consonantal; hence, you provided the vowels as you read), he did preserve the Tetragrammaton. Even so, the pronunciation would change from language to language anyway. Many people find it curious that although they see nothing wrong with refusing to use God’s personal name, they have no qualms about using the personal names of the pagan gods. How sad – and telling – that is.

As for the pronunciation, we do not correctly pronounce the name of our Lord and Savior. “Jesus” is certainly NOT the way his name was pronounced. Do you ever run into anyone who has a problem with saying “Jesus”? Jesus is a Latinized version of his name but it was not in use in the first century. Now we all KNOW how to pronounce his name in Hebrew or in Greek (Iesous). But we don’t do that. Why do you suppose that is?

Listen, the most common English pronunciation for the name of the God of Moses and Abraham is Jehovah. Given its numerous occurrences in the Hebrew, given the attitude of the ancient Jews respecting it, given the ease with which they used it, given the prominence God himself has given it, given the fact that our Lord Jesus made it the priority in his model prayer (Our Father, let YOUR name be made holy), and given everything I cannot write here for lack of time and space, it should be readily apparent to any reasoning mind that God wants his name - the name of the Sovereign Lord God Jehovah – to be used.

Yes, I personally believe that God wants his name to be used. To say otherwise is to flagrantly reject the very Bible in which He personally had it recorded. And yes, I use it. It is the name of the True God – it is the name of my God. I am a Christian - one of Jehovah's Witnesses - a people called by his name.
