I know the best course of action as I’m her mother, schizophrenia is in our family, I was also diagnosed with it at around her age, so did my dad, and so did my grandad. Schizophrenia is more of a condition that you can learn to love it. I’m better without meds, so was my dad, I think I can teach my daughter to learn to love it and make the most of it like I do and like my dad does. In fact I think life would be too dull without it.

Best answer: Tums are an antacid made from calcium carbonate.

Tums are a relatively low risk medication for most people. The body has hormonal mechanisms which limit the absorption of calcium from the intestine and which prevent hypercalcaemia (too much calcium in the blood). The main risk would be formation of kidny stones from prolonged high dose consumption and too much calcium in the urine. Some conditions put someone at risk of hypercalcaemia, and this can make someone sick or can even kill. These include certain medications, too much vitamin D, too much parathyroid hormone, and certain forms of cancer.

But if you're taking lots of tums because you feel you need them then you need to see a doctor and be tested for things such as peptic ulcer, hiatus hernia, helicobacter pylori and stomach cancer. There are more effective medications which stop the secretion of acid by the stomach rather than neutralising acid already in the stomach.

And if you're taking these tums in an attempt to end your life please seek help. Many people who feel suicidal seek help and then they don't feel suicidal anymore, and they're glaad they didn't kill themselves.

I was looking into radiology because that mostly works with just scans instead of actually seeing the 'gross' stuff but are there other specialties that don't deal with seeing cut flesh or injuries?? I really wish I wasn't so weak with that stuff :( thanks for any help!!

I was sexually-assaulted two weeks ago and went into the hospital on the same day to get a rape-kit performed on me. The nurse did a pelvic exam, took an oral schwab from my mouth, took cells from my breast, under my nails, had me do a urinalysis and pricked my finger for blood and gave me medication, including a shot. In the room as a representative from MOCSA that saw everything. Yesterday, the detective went to get information from the hospital in regards to my rape kit. The nurse stated that I refused to take a toxicology test. I told him that this isn't true because she never asked nor mentioned it. Also, I did everything that she asked of me. I gave her everything (blood, urine, skin cells and pelvic exam). It doesn't make sense that I would refuse a toxicology test. Why did they say this? It doesn't make sense for me to go through the entire rape kit and then refuse a toxicology test. What to do? This is important for my case.
