  • Night light ideas?
I cannot sleep at all without some kind of light on. I like to leave the closet light (which isn't very bright) and my parents got mad and got rid of the bulb. I left a lava lamp on, they got mad at that too. I left the tv and sleep timer, and they took the tv out of my room. I seriously don't know what to... show more

Recycle the can and use a swamp pot. Even a # 10 can limits your options and even with rocks in the bottom you can still over water depending upon what you are growing. The extreme range in plants would be from hibiscus which is the swamp mallow impossible to over water to cactus which takes very little water.

Now compare that cost to the cost of becoming a dad when you aren't ready. Eighty cents per encounter looks pretty affordable, right? Skip one can of soda per day and you're good to go, player.

  • Around how much would it cost to update plumbing in an older house?
The house is 50 yrs old. The bathroom is going to be widened out. Up to now there are no major plumbing problems but it is the older galvanized steel pipes which I hear are not great. If the entire house is about 1,400 SF is that how a plumber estimates his cost? It has all become a nightmare.

We live in a house with radiators (I don't know if that makes a difference) but when you turn the heat on, a big blast comes from the basement. The basement door is often closed but when it comes on, it's such a blast that it sounds like someone is trying to kick down the basement door. It's been doing this for the past several years & since then, people have been over to look at the furnace & didn't know what it was. Last night was the loudest I've ever heard it. I was convinced that I was going to go downstairs & it would look like Armageddon. If anyone could tell me what this means, or what this could be so when I describe it to the repair man, he'll know what I'm talking about and won't write it off as "nothing". I'm pretty sure it's not "nothing". This shxt sounds dangerous. Please help.

I was told to try changing the breaker and encouraged to go to a bigger size, it was a 20-40-40-20, I bought a 30-50-50-30, it's been working for a week and now it tripped again and won't stay on the on position for the water heater. The middle ones stay on for the stove which is working properly. What could be causing this trip and why?
