Best answer: Ample water is necessary for proper digestion. And hydration is critical to our health considering that we are 60-70% water.

Water can flush certain toxins out of our bodies through excretion - urine - but not all of them. Also defecation. But some parts of food become parts of our bodies and remain for a long time. Some such as heavy metals can only be removed through special means like chelation.

So it depends upon many factors. But that is not the primary function of water. Its best to choose your foods wisely and know what you are eating and its risks - before you consume them.

I am 19 years old and 163 centimeters tall. I used to weigh 68 kilograms, which was clearly too much and I decided to go on a strict diet and lose weight. In the past few months I’ve gone down to 58 kilograms. I work out daily and consume approximately 700 calories per day. I know that most websites say that you should go for at least 1000 calories, but I’ve tried that and ended up gaining weight instead. I eat lots of vegetables every day with meat as lunch and I also eat fruit almost daily. I go for foods that are very low in calories but don’t have to be as low in quantity, therefore veggies have been my best friend. However, I’ve stopped losing weight lately and experience bloating and stomach pains every now and then. I can only go to the toilet every 3-4 days, even though I start my day by drinking warm water, salted water after lunch and loads of green tea every day. I’m not sure if this is something to be concerned about, but I’ve fought very hard for my weight loss and I’m wondering if there is something wrong with my metabolism or if I should speak to a doctor about this.

  • I am scared of gaining weight and i constantly weight myself. i will eat every 3 days. then have anxiety attacks after. whats wrong with me?

Best answer: We don't eat processed foods and do all our cooking from scratch so we can control the ingredients. I was also drinking "Mummy magic tea" 3xday before my meals as instructed. In one month, I lost 18 lbs without any working out and only changing my diet. Drinking a lot of water will also help.

Water does not make you gain weight, it's just that weighing yourself right after you eat or drink anything is going to make you SEEM heavier, until your body has processed and eliminated food. If you are constantly weighing yourself, yes, you have a problem. Weigh yourself only ONCE a day, in the morning after you get up, and after peeing and defecating. Do NOT do it more often. Do NOT weigh yourself right after you eat or drink something.

It does sound as though you are developing real issues with food. I think you should ask your parents to take you to a therapist.
