How many alcoholic beverages do you consume at a social event or party? And is it common for some to stick to no more than 3 drinks?

    Favorite Answer:

Very common to have 3 drinks max at a party. That's among adults of course. A frat party or kegger with kids is liable to be much more drunken.

Is it safe or OK to drink beer and smoke marijuana after having the Covid shots?

    Favorite Answer:

Weed is definitely safe. I smoked plenty after I got my shot. I’m not sure about alcohol though. You should ask the nurse that gives you the shot. You may not want to go to any parties though. You may have some temporary side effects. About 8 hours after I got my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, I had a sore arm, mild headache (went away with ibuprofen), fatigue, and I felt kind of dizzy and disoriented, like it was hard to focus my eyes. I definitely would not have wanted to party or drink. Everyone is different though. I felt fine the next day. You should also know that it takes a couple weeks to give you any protection from covid. Going to a party is not a great idea.

Is it common to have way more indigestion with alcohol consumption in your 30s?

    Favorite Answer:

    Yes.  Alcohol erode your stomach.

Our stomach releases hydrochloric acid to digest protein with. Normally, it also secretes mucous to keep the stomach from digesting itself. But when you drink alcohol, you are destroying the protective mucous.  So slowly you are digesting your stomach wall and at some point you will get a great big hole in your stomach, with acid eating away at your other internal organs.

Your body is warning you to stop drinking.

Everyone has a different rate of incurring damage from alcohol, and where the damage occurs will vary from one person to another.

But alcohol is a poison, and once your body starts to incur damage from it, your drinking days are over.

How many shots per hour for me to get drunk?

I’m a 21 year old girl, 5’3 and weigh about 115. I’ve drank and gotten tipsy before but honestly not much of a drinker so I haven’t gotten super drunk or thrown up or any of that. Would drinking at about 2 shots an hour or so be enough to get me ‘drunk’ but not like falling over/blacking out/throwing up?

    Guidelines nonsense?

    Favorite Answer:

Alcohol is a potentially dangerous and addictive substance, which would be banned if it were new [as another correspondent has already pointed out, same goes for cigarettes]. If you must drink alcohol, keep it moderate and spread your units over 4-5 days, with at least two alcohol-free days a week. Then you may, with luck avoid health problems such as addiction and liver damage. NEVER  drink alcohol if you are going to drive or operate machinery.

How much should I drink the first time I drink alcohol?

    Favorite Answer:

Here is my advice for you to stay alive and avoid getting sick.

    1. Drink slowly (sure, gulp a shot down, but then wait for 20-30 minutes). This way you can judge how it affects you.

    2. When you get drunk, you will think drinking more will make you feel better, but it is a cliff. One shot too many, and you are in trouble. (drink slowly so you know where that cliff is if you fall off).

    3. Don't mix alcohols. They will have different affects on you, stick with one at a time until you know.

    4. If you smoke, monitor how much. Drinking will make you smoke more and smoking more will make you super sick the next day.

    5. Drink some water for ever shot so you don't get dehydrated, it can make you sick the next day.

    6. Don't drive drunk or get in a car with a drunk driver (that could be very costly)

    7. Be careful about mixing pills with alcohol, some combinations can kill you.

Everyone that drink has taken it too far because they don't know where that boundary is.  If you drink a shot every 30 minutes, when you hit that limit, you won't still have alcohol to process in your stomach. Having so much alcohol to process still is what kills people in binge drinking where they drink as much as they can as fast as they can.

I drank vodka too on my 21st and 3 shots was my sweet spot. Of course I didn't figure that out until later, I did like most people and drank way too much.

Why do people have to be so judgemental now a days against people who like to get drunk?

Does the term happy drunk not matter anymore just because the average person with low IQ gets stupid, violent, drives drunk, or becomes abusive?

I love beer and sometimes I party.

I feel like it's ok for people to be pill heads, closet wine drinkers, or on prescription options, eat junk food, drink soda, get fat, or smoke, but so long as they dont drink?
