Another person shortly followed, then another, then another. Finally, the entire class got up and turned in a blank paper and left. One student stayed and actually finished the test, but then refused to turn in his paper to the teacher, telling her he just did ti for fun. I know this was a movie, but what if this happened in real life? If students decide to create a pact against their teacher and intentionally all fail. Could a teacher be fired?

  • Can a teacher fail you for no reason?

I would like to know if a teacher can just give you an F for nothing, because my math teacher gave me an F, yet I've been doing and turning in my work.

Does this make you uncomfortable at all? I hope it does because just reading this makes me feel uncomfortable. I'm in high school and whenever a male teacher even comes over to help me, I immediately feel weird and awkward. I'd also feel pretty distracted in class. And as you mentioned, sometimes he coughs to get your attention because you're easily distracted - if this is distracting you AND making you feel weird, I would tell somebody. Just hearing your friend say "he's obsessed with you" would make me feel weird.

I'm not 100% sure that's what it is, but there does seem to be a weird thing going on. It could be that he sees you as an interesting person and he wants to know more about you, but then again, this does sound weird.

Best answer: Kindergarteners no longer have nap time because what they're expected to learn is a lot more rigorous than it used to be. Kindergarten used to be a place for kids to go to get socialization and basic readiness skills, like learning the alphabet, how to count, how to write their name, etc. Now that's being taught in Pre-K (if schools have a Pre-K program) and kindergarteners are having to learn more difficult things, like addition and subtraction, how to read (we have a list of 50 sight words that kindergarteners are supposed to know--that's a lot!), just basically the stuff they used to teach in first grade. Because of what needs to be taught, there's no longer time to do naps and other things that they used to do. My mom taught kindergarten for 35 years and her first five years and last five years were so different you'd think she was teaching a different grade level.

PS What they're learning now isn't developmentally appropriate and the reason kids are struggling later on. It's actually having the opposite effect of what was intended.

My teacher always stares at me in class. Like all the time. He will make a sound like a cough or something to get me to look up because I am easily distracted with sounds and he will be staring into my eyes. He always seems to be in the hall when I have a free class and so we have pretty long conversations just him and I. He will laugh and sometimes touch my shoulder playfully. Just recently I left class to go to the bathroom and he was right outside the door and decided to walk me to the bathroom. He told me that I shouldn't have left my friend in class with the teacher because its against the rules. He said students alone with a teacher is bad; as we are walking alone together. Because you never know what could happen, and he looks straight at me, I laughed it off but... My friends even say he is weirdly obsessed with me and he will go up to my desk for no reason at all and lean over it and inspect my pack of gum or something silly. He is 36 and I am 16, but he's really attractive. What's up?

School is definitely a waste of time, Don't believe me? Okay, here I'll tell you what I do throughout my whole school day and what I'm actually learning. I have 4 classes throughout my school day but on my second and third class I have the same teacher just so you won't get confused. So for my 1st class I have financial management class, in this class we learn how to manage our money correctly, taxes and how to spend our money better. But the problem is that the teacher actually gives us paper work and she tells us to get our laptops and look for our answers on a site and when I go to the site the videos are long and so boring, seriously I feel like I'm killing my brain cells from watching this long boring videos!!! We do this every single day! On my 2nd and 3rd I have the same teacher, All this women is doing is talking in front of the class for 30 minutes or more ( she could be making her stories up ) and then she tells us to get our laptops and work on our project, seriously she won't even grade it and the project is about writing a paragraph describing yourself, OMG how is this even a project? We are literally on our laptops for 3 hours with 30 minutes. On my 4th class I have a computer class, the work is on the computer and the work is so easy that a elementary school student could easily understand it. And I see the teacher on her desk chilling, she is on her computer phone and eating some food. Don't you think I'm wasting my time?

Best answer: It's "on Sunday night." You already know that days of the week are preceded by "on," as in "on Wednesday," "on Saturday," and so on. Your second and third examples are both wrong because "on" cannot be used if the next word is "night." It's "during the night .....," so both of those choices are incorrect. (Depending on the situation, it might also be "at night," but the choice between "during" and "at" depends on the tense, so we're better off not worrying about it. Just trust me, in your examples, the correct choice is "during.") You're aware that prepositions are very complicated in English, and there really are no trustworthy "rules." Your best bet is to watch what native speakers say and write, and simply take their word for the correct choice.
