    Medical question ?

So my mom is in a nursing home due to covid. She is the head of house hold with a disabled dependent. My sister. The nursing home wants to do a share of cost which would be her whole pension. I physically can’t afford to pay her mortgage without that money. I was talking to an accountant and he said because she is head of house hold they can’t take away her pension. Is this true. Do you have any other tips other than buying more insurance premiums to bring her monthly income down? She get 1500 from the pension they want to take 1400. Yearly the cut off is 17,000 and my mom makes 18,000 a year.

I am sick to death of seeing adverts for life insurance and funeral covers, any comments ?

Because KNOW ONE seems to realise that when the person dies , these companies don't need to pay out because the person won't be alive to fight it, and be alive to do anything about it lol

Is it worth filing claim with our homeowners insurance?

Someone got injured at our house. They’re not suing but would like for us to pay their medical expenses. If it’s not too much, is it worth filing a claim with my homeowners insurance to pay for it, or should I just pay out of pocket? I’m wondering if there are any consequences, like increase in premium etc.

Why would you. How fortunate you are to have this bequeathed to you. Just feel grateful, I know I would.

Can you pay as you go with COBRA insurance?

Because it's so expensive do you have to sign up and be locked into 12+ months of payment or can you just pay one extra month?

I just lost my job but I only need that insurance for at least one to two months so I can get to doctors I have been seeing and finish with my appointments with them but I need to stay on my current insurance or I lose them.

Job Denying Medicaid as insurance? ?

My friend called me today asking for my insurance card bc her employer stated all employees need to opt in insurance or provide proof that they have insurance by an outside provider. She told me that the employer isn’t accepting state Medicaid as proof as insurance. The employer is a private company  in Montgomery County Maryland. Is this legal? I’ve tried looking for resources, but to no avail. Does anyone have any insight on this?

If my mom goes into a nursing home on Medicaid, when do we sell her car?

Mom is going into a nursing home soon and she will be on Medicaid.  She has an older car parked in her garage valued at around $2,000.  I can't get it started and the tires are shot so the buyer will need to bring a trailer to haul it.

Does the car need to be sold now since my mom obviously will no longer be able to use it or can we wait until she passes away then sell it with the estate?  She doesn't want to sell it now because she would just have more money she needs to spend.

Could we then keep it licensed and insured in her name?

Can a middle age person with no job and bad health get on the Affordable Health plain?

    Favorite Answer:

The Affordable Care Act is a law, NOT a health plan.

If your friend is still within the time window from losing his insurance and he meets the income criteria, he may be eligible for a SUBSIDY which would help pay for some or all of an individual health insurance plan.

    ...and your question is?

This is going to happen frequently. You did nothing wrong, but if you call back, it will be wrong, and quite possibly illegal.
