Drive for the conditions not some magic number on the speed limit sign.
Increase space behind the car in front at least 4-8 seconds.
    SLOW DOWN
PAY ATTENTION and look around at what others are doing not just the bumper in front of you. PLAN by looking ahead to see what is happening.12-30 seconds up the road.
    SLOW DOWN
The snow does not make you slide. GOING TOO FAST DOES.
The snow reduces your visibility . HINT YOU CANNOT SEE STUFF as easy. SLOW DOWN.
Signs can be snow covered. A little common sense and you should know the shape of a STOP or YIELD sign.
Avoid the lead foot on both brakes and gas. Slow and steady gets the job done. Plan ahead and know alternate routes to get where you need to go. Accidents happen, HILLS exist. You avoid them if you can.
    Normal Headlights work best.
    SLOW DOWN
Pay Attention USE your signal lights well in advance . YIELD TO SNOW CLEARING EQUIPMENT they are there to make it better driving. They have not plowed the road yet in front of them. They also move out of the way every few minutes if they can.
    SLOW DOWN
Up to you to keep your windows as clear as possible. It might mean you stop get out and brush off some snow if necessary.
Side windows can easily fog up keep the defroster fan blowing at high speed. Adjust the temperature as you need too.
Rear window deicer may shut off time to time. Keep turning it on as you need it.

The wet part of road near snow can be very slippery or ice. SLOW DOWN BEFORE places like exit ramps and bridge decks at each end are frequently icy.
SLOW DOWN is the best advice.
It does matter if it is a Blizzard or a light snowfall. Freezing rain before the snow falls is extremely dangerous to drive.

WATCH FOR PEDESTRIANS they can slip and fall in front of you. They may also be bundled up and not see or hear you.

In most situations a slow wiper speed should be enough to keep the front window clear.

Good idea to have lots of gas. You can easily get stuck in a jam. No need to aim for near empty before you add some gas.

While it is snowing expect there to be snow on all the roads. The snowplows do not clean down to clear pavement. Any sand or salt does not magically make the road summer driving. SLOW DOWN.

When you stop for some reason PAY ATTENTION the car behind you might not stop. One big reason you leave a little extra space
    from the car in front.

Green light does not mean jack rabbit across. Pay attention someone might be sliding through the red and hit you.

It is not really that difficult. Just plan for your adventure to take longer than usual.

Should some bad thing happen expect a long wait for help. They are busy with many other incidents. Good idea to have some just in case things in your car. You might need to walk a bit to get help. Be prepared with suitable clothing like boots, gloves and a warm jacket.
You can make your own emergency kit or purchase one ready made.

There is this one road where I live, and the speed limit is 55 mph. It is a pretty long road (12 miles), but there's only one place where you can pass. I drive this road about 6 times a week, and 5/6 of those times, there is someone going way below the speed limit. Most of the "slower" drivers on the road go about 40 mph, but I have been behind some people that go 25 mph. It drives me insane! There is always a cop somewhere on the road, but I have never seen them stop a slow driver. I understand that the max is 55 mph, but 25 or even 40 mph messes with the flow of traffic. What are your thoughts of people that drive under the speed limit? Does it annoy you or am I just an angry person when it comes to driving? What should I do in these situations? Btw I live in an area where there are no "minimum speed" signs posted.

Best answer: Definitely. This may be a regular rider and the bus driver knows this guy is a bit "weird", He cannot refuse to bus him around but he can make sure he does not bother people.
