Im 21 years old and want to start college but i don’t have a high school diploma. I went to talk to my highschool and they told me that all I was missing was half of an elective credit to have my diploma. Is there anything i can do to get that half credit or do i have to take the GED??

Hi. So, I finished school today with exams. Now I’ve got like 3 to 4 months of holiday and no school. Normally I felt usefull in my life for having to wake up early, packing my backpack, go to school, make homework or study for tests or exams and having overall consistency in life. But since these things don’t happen anymore, I feel useless. This happens sometimes to people when they stop working for a long time. Then it feels like they don’t add up to society. This feeling of worthlessness happens to everytime we have a school break, like Christmas break. But now I feel like it’s going to hit me hard because this holiday is really long. I don’t know what I could do to survive it. For most of us, it’s the best feeling ever: freedom, time to relax, but for me it feels like hell. Does anyone also has this feeling and how do you deal with that? Are there some tips to prevent it? Thanks for reading.

It s complicated, but I hate dance for multiple reasons and I know we are going to do something tomorrow which will probably make me cry in the bathroom for an hour lol. Im going to tell my mom I want to skip it (my mom doesn t give a **** about dance elective, and even said she d be fine if I ditched it but I d probably get caught by the teachers). If she says she ll pull me out, I m going to come back when the next period starts so I don t miss any actual education. I was wondering excuses to be taken out of the middle of school? I was thinking maybe a family wedding, or a graduation. Which would be better and would only last about an hour?

  • What factors would contribute to a student doing poorly at tests and at school?

Best answer: Stress. Some people really do not like doing tests, exams, or anything similar. They do not always know how to set down what they are thinking, perhaps because they are not good at grammar, spelling, etc. Such people often do well at something practical, such as assembling a machine, but they find it difficult to... show more

I did it a few times and had one really bad experience with someone older than me at my high school (he’s a junior, I’m a sophomore). After that it was really bad and all the juniors would come up to me at school and make fun of me. I was going through a lot of self esteem issues which is why I did it but now I know that it was not the right way to deal w that and I regret it so much. I’ve had no mistakes since late last year but ppl still bring it up and ppl from other high schools know about it too. It makes me feel so ashamed and worthless and I don’t know how to deal w it. I’m not super popular so if I really stuck up for myself ppl would just laugh. My high school is pretty shitty and full of bullies :(

  • I'm having a hard time and I need advice?

Best answer: There are two problems here. First, you are clearly not being "schooled"- you have been left on your own to flounder. There's a reason for teachers- they are the ones who can guide you through the tough material. Second, you are too young to be taking AP courses. I know schools (and parents) push... show more

Second, you are too young to be taking AP courses. I know schools (and parents) push them on kids at a younger age these days, but those courses are intended to be college level courses, and 16 year olds don't have the cognitive development yet to do real college level work. That's not an insult- it's the way the body and brain develops. It's like asking a 6 year old to built a house- they simply aren't ready for it.
I don't know how you're going to explain all this to your mother. It sounds like she has very unrealistic expectations. If you were in school, your teachers could explain things to her. You really need to go back to school.

He was a nerd in high school- probably couldn't get a date, and probably irritated people with his obsession with computers. But when he walks in now, one of the richest people in the world, with a successful marriage, his high school colleagues think quite differently about him.
I went to a reunion. The homecoming queen from my year, a very nice person and a friend, had married her high school boyfriend, settled down in a small town and raised a couple of children. A very nice life- but she was both smart and beautiful and could have done a great deal more with her life.

  • Do high schools and elementaries have sex education classes in your area?

Best answer: Probably depends where you live. In Australia sex education is generally taught from year 6 and upwards. (Average age of 9) but you didn’t get free condoms.
