Someone I loved very much died of breast cancer at the age of 26, so it's certainly not something limited only to older people. Breast cancer doesn't usually manifest itself as a red lump you can see; it's normally down inside the breast tissue. What you should do is go to your mom and ask her to take a look, and then if she doesn't know what it is, schedule an appointment with your doctor to get it examined. It may turn out to be nothing more than a bug bite, but it's better to know for sure that it's nothing than to ignore it and have it be something.

In some cases, the disease is transmitted by drinking contaminated water for example. Of course it could be something else so you need to not jump to wrong conclusions but wait until you actually talk to your Doctor and get the test results. One sure thing is that you will not get any really good answers by asking anonymous persons here who have either questionable or possible even no medical knowledge.

Best answer: There is absolutely NO CHANCE that you would have given yourself genital herpes, my young friend.

Coldsores are HSV-1 (Herpes Simplex Virus 1) and genital herpes is HSV-2 (Herpes Simplex Virus 2).

Although they are very similar, they are NOT the same.

The bad news is, you CAN transfer HSV-1 to your genitals ... just as you CAN transfer HSV-2 to the mouth.

The ONLY way to differentiate the two different types of herpes is by having a sample analysed [analyzed, if you are, in fact, one of my American cousins] in a laboratory.

Do NOT worry about seeing a doctor, ma'am. Doctors have seen much more than you are ever likely to experience.

As herpes is a type of virus, you MAY not even need to see a doctor. Speak with your local chemist/pharmacist as there are over the counter medications that can be purchased for the treatment of coldsores.

Try not to kiss friends/gamily members whilst you have an outbreak as it is very easily transferable. (That's how most cases end up being transferred to begin with. i.e. you MAY have received it from being kissed by relatives/friends.)

My symptoms include: heat and redness (facial flushing) in face and ears, headaches every day, eczema on my fingers, abdominal cramps and diarrhea, upper back and neck pain/stiffness, random aches in random places, fatigue (no matter how much sleep I get, I am always tired when I wake up and don't feel refreshed), lots of anxiety and stress, irregular/heavy/painful menstrual cycles, left leg pain, heat intolerance, cold hands and feet, occasional heart palpitations, and occasional chest pain. I have had lots of lab work done and almost everything comes back in the normal range. The weird thing is that lots of blood tests are showing high levels of inflammation in my body, however, no doctors seem to know the cause of the inflammation. I have a positive ANA test (originally 1:80 but now 1:160). I have an elevated level of C reactive protein, which is another inflammation marker I believe. An elevated igG gluten level and an elevated igA level. Low prostaglandins level. A slightly higher white blood cell count. Low iron and ferritin. Elevated platelet count (normal range is 150-379 and mine is 418). Elevated T3 test. I also have a slightly elevated histamine level. These are the tests that are high, low, or out of range. I have had blood tests for carcinoid tumor/syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome, mastocytosis, lyme disease, cushing's disease, celiac disease, etc. and all came back negative. If anyone has an idea of what is happening, please comment! Thanks!

Best answer: No one really knows for sure. actually her chances of survival are very good.

Lat summer I went into the hospital for a triple bypass operation on my heart. When I pre-registered at the Hospital I was told to expect to stay in the ICU for 24 hours and go home after about 5 days. We then discussed a long list of possible complications most of which seldom ever happened. So I went into the Hospital and had the surgery. Surprise, I had 5 major complications any one of which could have killed me. I was in the intensive care unit for 10 days and went home on day 28. after only 2 days at home I was back in the operating room for another procedure and another week in the hospital. The good news is that it is a year later and my wife and I just returned from a 2 week long camping trip.

I seriously doubt if this is the end of the line for your Grandma any more than my surgery was the end of the line for me. I am 81 and I fully expect to be around for at least another 10 years.

The Dr refuses to refill my mom's digoxin heart med..He kept going on and on how vital the medication is to her health and heart he is new resident dr. We have told him she is out the medication for 6 days. She has been on this med 12 years along with other heart failure meds and we are at a loss why he keeps telling her how vital the med is and then he refuses to refill it..She was given a digoxin blood test by the same dr, the numbers were normal. We called his office to say she is still out the med and all we hear is we will tell him..There is no valid reason for him to withhold this medication. What can we do call the hospital he is a resident in? He is a resident dr and he works outpatient clinic the hospital has..The hospital is Vanderbilt...FYI she keeps all her appointments and takes care of herself so she is not in and out of the hospital. The dr nor his staff will say why the medication is abruptly stopped nor will they say if aything will happen after abruptly stopping the med ?
