I ask because before my Aunt died of Colon cancer and i noticed that her upper leg around the thigh was just bleeding non stop and it had like a little bit of a blue color. Doctors had a big rag trying to stop the blood but it just kept bleeding and i never understood what was happening. Do you think it was a tumor that bursted and started bleeding nonstop? and if someone has cancer tumors in their body will it eventually start bleeding a lot? Thanks sorry to be so graphic but it really helps to understand this disease a lot better and i appreciate it.

  • What to do about chapped lips?

Best answer: Chapstick is the obvious answer. However, you should consider making the inside of your home less dry. Purchase a humidifier, or simmer a pot of water on the stove (while you are home) to put back the moisture into your air. You can also throw some spices in the pot on the stove (like cloves) to make your house... show more

  • I think I just accidently ate raw chicken?

I have no idea how much I consumed, but I just looked down at the chicken I was eating and it looks raw. Like it's somewhat pink and has little (bumps?) on it. I'm so scared. One of my biggest fears is food poisoning ☹️☹️☹️

Yesterday she said her pee was orange and she was nauseous and dizzy. She thought she had a UTI but she went to the school health clinic and they said she had a cold and gave her antibiotics. This morning when I woke I found out she slept on the couch with a trash can next to her. I’m scared she might be contagious and I’m trying not to get it but she is asleep on one of the couches spreading her germs everywhere. If she is vomiting why not go in your room or the bathroom instead of doing it where everyone goes. How Can I avoid what ever she has ? I know UTI are not contagious but if it is a cold then it is. It is almost break and I don’t want to be sick.

Best answer: I've been taking metformin for about 20 years now. I started with 500mg 2x per day and eventually the dose was increased to 850 mg 2x/day.

I know it causes gastric problems with some people but I never had any trouble with it at all. For people who do, there's a time-release version that's supposed to cause less trouble. And if it still is a problem, there are other drugs. But metformin is always what they start you on because it works great, it's been around a long time, and it's available as a cheap generic (I pay $12 for 3 months worth! I dropped my insurance prescription coverage because their $20 co-pay is actually more than the cost of the drug!)

Now I'm diabetic, as you might have guessed already. Type 2. A few years ago I wondered if metformin even did anything for me, considering that I do a pretty good job of controlling my blood sugar through diet and exercise (and that I've lost a lot of weight, as my Dr. recommended). So I went off it for a week or so, just to see what effect it would have on my blood sugar readings. It made a BIG difference! My post-prandial readings shot up about 40 points! So I know it works.

  • Would you sleep with someone who has HPV ?

    Best answer: Yes.

A person with HPV isn't a bad person or in any way 'dirty' (referencing the gross practice of calling someone STD free 'clean'), besides around 75% of people who are sexually active have/will have HPV in their lifetime - there's no reliable test for HPV in men and many people have no symptoms, so most people have had sex with someone who has HPV without knowing.

If I'm at a point where I'm considering having sex with a person then chances are I plan on being with them for a long time, and I'm not going to dump someone I care about just because they have HPV - although I might dump them if they don't make me aware that they have an STD, that's a far bigger no-no than having an STD!

Although condoms don't give 100% protection against HPV things like using condoms or dental dams and avoiding sex when there are warts can reduce risk, also if a partner did pose high risk of transferring HPV there is the HPV vaccine to reduce risk.

Best answer: Honestly, it sounds like you have an anxiety disorder.

It would be a good idea to improve your diet, learn to cook at least simple things (doesn't take much effort to learn to sautee vegetables, scramble eggs, throw together a sandwich, peel an orange ffs, etc... this is stuff I learned when I was 5 or 6, if not earlier, and it wasn't that challenging even then), and cut down on the junk food. For a number of reasons. But at your age, your weight (not at all overweight), and without a notable family history of diabetes, it's HIGHLY unlikely you have diabetes. Your symptoms actually sound quite a bit like an anxiety attack... and considering the amount of anxiety you seem to be expressing over something you probably don't have, it sounds like a much more likely possibility than diabetes. It's possible your medication is contributing to it (or maybe even the full cause of it), too.

Doesn't hurt to go to the doctor and get some bloodwork done, so probably a good idea to talk to your parents about scheduling you an appointment. But diabetes is extremely unlikely (you're too old for Type 1 to be likely, too young and too thin for Type 2 to be likely, etc...). Most likely either an anxiety disorder or side effects from your ADD medication. Of course, that's just a guess (again, going to the doctor wouldn't hurt).
