I’m 17 and I have had spots for about 5 years now. My acne has started to calm down in the last 2 years but since then I’ve started to get spots on my back and shoulders. I’ve tried everything to get rid of them but nothing really works. I shower everyday and again if I’ve worked out, I drink plenty of water and even though my diet isn’t amazing, I don’t think it’s anywhere near bad enough to cause the spots on my back. I’ve also tried medication and that did work but the side effects were so bad I had to stop taking it and the spots came back. Has anyone got any tips or anything that has worked for them? Thanks

  • Can cancer cause kidney failure?

My partners cousin is 34. She has terminal bowel cancer. She has been given months to live. But the problem she has now is her kidneys have failed (stage 5 kidney failure) Is this caused by the cancer? Or the treatment she had for cancer ? Is there nothing that can be done?

I’m 23, and I believe I have heart problems. For as long as I can remember, I have occasional skipped heartbeats. Some times they happen very rapidly at once and will continue for a few days, and then go away for some months sometimes even years. It’s been 3 months and they still haven’t gone away fully, the longest they have stopped have been two weeks. I also feel congested at times and sometimes when I finish laughing, my chest hurts or feels congested. I workout daily with no problems however, besides small chest strain when I move in certain places. I have gotten and EKG done, everything is normal. I have been checked for murmurs numerous times, and all my doctors haven’t found anything. I got an echo 3 weeks ago and wore a Holter monitor for two weeks, and the doctor still hasn’t contacted me back with my results. I do have a follow up appointment with my cardiologist on 11/9, however. If everything is “fine” like people say, why do I feel congested? Why does my heart skip beats? Why do I feel chest pain after laughing hard? Is there something wrong with me?

There is a lot of information on Google- both good and bad, and that can be misinterpreted. The sooner you get to a real doctor who is looking at your particular issues, the better you will feel for knowing the truth. It may be that you have hemorrhoids and not cancer, and it may be that you are worrying yourself into an ulcer.

If you have GI cancers in your immediate family, you should be having regularly scheduled colonoscopies. Talk to your doctor about that, as well. For now, give yourself the day off, go have a warm bath or something comforting, and resolve to get in touch with your doctor in the morning. And STOP reading up on what you think you have, until you know.
