• Why was Ed Sheeran knighted...compared to all the other deserving Britons who are not?

    Best answer: Has he?
    I doubt he has.

He was given an MBE, services to music in 2017.

Plenty of unworthy people get them.

Time to scrap the daft system, it seems all you need to do is write a few songs, run a few races and voila!

I'm starting to learn piano and I'm determined to do it this time, I remember the last time I had problems as I expected cheaper lessons and could not afford an 88 key piano and all the songs I wanted to play required 88 keys. Ideally I would just have an 88 key keyboard with no speakers or display that I could just plug into my pc, download some software and when I push the keys a similar sound would come through my pc or wireless earphones, that way I wouldn't bother any housemates and it would save money until I was at a level that requires a proper keyboard/piano. I saw these roll out keyboards and I liked the idea but was afraid if I learned from that I may not be able to do it on a real keyboard, I also heard when you push 2 or 3 keys together it doesn't make the correct sound which I guess isn't a good thing while learning. So do you know of any good usb keyboard that has 88 keys and is good for learning at home or even a cheap 88 key keyboard that I could learn from at home? And what's your opinion on the roll out keyboard?

  • Does it matter which gauge guitar strings to use?

Best answer: yes but it is personal preference try some different sets yourself I can only play light gauges as they can bend the note more easily and heavy gauges which have to be tighter hurt my fingertips

  • I’m 42, can I still learn to play a guitar or a keyboard to a reasonable standard?

Best answer: My oldest guitar student started at 52, and was a credible player in less than a year.  He was conscientious in study and practice, and pretty bright.

  • How can i learn to listen to the rhythm or beats on music to songs on the radio?

Best answer: This is really hard to do if it doesn't come naturally. You would have to learn how to read music and the lengths of the notes. Some people find it easy to hear the rhythm or beat and others just don’t get it. I played in an orchestra and even before that had a good sense of rhythm, and conducted the school choir at Christmas time, yet neither of my sons can tap out the rhythm of the songs they like. So really, I have no idea how to tell you how to learn this. Maybe try Line Dancing at a local club and you will learn that way..

  • Was Jim Croce murdered?

Best answer: I would have to be a murder/suicide. His plane crashed on takeoff. It was dark, the pilot hadn't gained enough altitude and he ran into a pecan tree, the only one around. How you could arrange something like that on purpose I don't know.

I look up Goth instrumental, Vampire, Gothic chanting, etc. You can go through the playlist below and pick and choose that way. I know your struggle, I've been looking for some good, dark music too, and it's hit or miss this way.

Also, you can never go wrong with Siouxsie and the Banshees and the Scissor Sisters. They are upbeat with a dark message, that's for sure.

EDIT: Also, she may have some good music suggestions, but It's Black Friday of YouTube fame is your Goth and spooky go-to. She may have a video or two of good suggestions or at least, pay attention to her background music. She's a cool Goth chick from New Zealand and she's hysterical :)
