I looked then she says 'have you got a girlfriend?' She said it nicely by time of voice I ignored her, she then asked again, her friend said 'aww leave him alone he’s dead cute’ and then ‘he likes probably has’ (probably has a gf) (cute like puppy dog cute is that bad?) and smiled at me, I continued to ignore them, and that girl said aww leave him alone now hes fuming, I wasn't I just felt uneasy, did they like me or mocking me?

I started a new job at a fast food restaurant 2 weeks ago but since I am part-time really I have only worked 4 days. when I try to make an order I get told from different coworkers to do it this way and that way. So I reached for the booklet that shows you how to prepare everything and they just take it and put it back. My manager tells me not to listen to them so I continue to do what I think is right and not listen to the other coworkers. Then I was doing dishes and I guess they all had a talk and came to tell me there is a new person starting that will train and learn everything then teach me because they could not help me or train me..... At first I took it as a joke, and realized they weren't joking, now I feel like they don't like me or they don't need me. I'm not sure if I should even go back in, or what to say, since the new girl training won't be there. I don't want to just stand there.. What should I do?

Any kind suggestion on what I should typically do? I'm 16 and positively have no Idea what to do precisely. Thanks you so much for replying!

  • Did they lie or not?

    Best answer: Except nobody lied.

The manager said that they COULD wprk 45-50 hours a week.
    COULD.
That does not mean that they will.

The only thing that matters is the minimum number of hours set out in each employees contract.

Ive been working as a waitress for little over a month, but have caught on quickly and have been given the responsibility of training a new server. The first day he told me this is his first job, and that he has ADHD which makes it hard for him to concentrate. I don t judge because my husband has ADHD and i live with it every day. The new server has been here for almost three weeks with no improvement. He still doesn t know the prices and struggles with the numbers, writing shorthand and calling orders to the cook. I got a bit angry last night because he had three tables and was stumbling over the calls, hadn t priced the tickets, had a mountain of dishes and other things to do and overall stressed himself out to the point of shutting down. I felt bad and have helped him wherever i can, but i have my own responsibilities to get done and i need him to focus. How can i help him without being overbearing or demanding?

Currently I’m working at a restaurant at a food court in a shopping mall. I was on my shift and my job is to work at the front taking customers orders. My boss and another worker who startes her first shift was working with me and I was helping the new girl out while I was doing my work. However my boss (who doesn’t really like me for no reason) screams my name and throws me $10 ordering me to go the market and buy stock for the kitchen. I took it on a positive note because the chef was very nice to me and I wanted to help out. So I said yes and ran and bought what she wanted. However, the boss called me again telling me to “buy milk” so I bought milk for her but she screamed for not buying 5 milks. I was astonished because I clearly remember her not specifying how many milk she wanted me to buy, so she made me run back to the mart and buy the rest of the milk. I was just so stressed because I felt humiliated and disrespected. I’m afraid she’ll do this again next time. Do I have the rights to deny these orders? Please tell my by Australian rules / laws. Thank you.

Ask friends or family and see if they would be willing to help you get a job with their company.
Have a look around at online job sites like indeed.com.
There are jobs out there, you shouldn't be too picky when applying if you need the money.
Also have a look at free temp agencies.

Best answer: Having a job is a great thing to do.I have been working since I was thirteen. At that age I basically mowed lawns ,ran errands, shovel snow, rake leaves etc.But when I got older my first paying job was fixing fences with my cousins company. We fixed wooden fences. It was a boring job at first but the more I worked day after day I actually ended up liking it.It gave me a sense of independence.I was still in my teens.Being shy at work or even nervous at work is common. Also I understand you are balancing a lot of stuff.I basically did the same thing at one point. But I stuck with it and soon after that I got a better job.One of my jobs was actually washing dishes at sixteen at an Ice Cream place.I also worked doing advertisement for a local company at the same time.I was in High school and went to the YMCA gym.But I do understand everyone is different. It was easier for m because I very rarely slept. If you are unsure you want to do that job or are having trouble keeping up with stuff I would talk to your friend and just explain to him what you explained to us.There is nothing wrong about not working if you are still in school.I would concentrate on school first then work.It would be the more easy way to go.Good luck!
