How is veal cruel if the calves are too young to understand the concept of death?

    Favorite Answer:

Veal is no crueler than any other type of meat.

At the end of the day, some animal dies to be carved up into food.

Am I suppose to feel sorrier for a cuter animal than an ugly one?

Cam tractors be used for other jobs besides farming?

    https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ALeKk00-AEkIuj...

I saw this video of a tractor pulling logs in a forest and found it interesting. I didn't know a tractor could be used for much besides just farming.. What other jobs can tractors be used for?

What's the difference between organic white rice and regular white rice?

    Favorite Answer:

No crops are grown in petri dishes.

Both organic rice and conventional rice are grown in the ground.

Organic rice, to be certified as organic, needs to be grown only with the use of organic-approved pesticides, and organic fertilizer.

Neither of those things should make a significant difference in the rice's taste or texture. My guess is that it might have been a different variety or different processing.

But in any case, if you like it better, go for it!

Can this world function without farmers?

    Favorite Answer:

Of course not. We could become hunter-gatherers, but those practices would never support the population we have today.

boyfriend’s ex going to his moms funeral?

    Favorite Answer:

They had a 4-year relationship, and it sounds as though her family knew the deceased, too. It is perfectly appropriate for her and them to attend.

It also makes sense that he would be somewhat withdrawn at the moment. You two have been involved for a VERY short period of time; you don't have a serious emotional relationship yet, and you don't have much of a claim on him.

I think you need to give it time and stop overthinking.  Sometimes a death does cause people to reevaluate their lives and relationships, and that could happen here.  Stay respectfully on the sidelines for the moment, but let him know you're available to him.  You just have to wait to see what happens.

Do you think farming and agriculture techniques and how to maintain a garden and crops should get taught in schools?

    Favorite Answer:

It is a dangerous situation if a country cannot feed its citizens without importing food from other countries,  Likely if you were say America were importing $4.6 Billion in food that the food is foods that are out of season in America.  Before modern food transporting many foodstuffs like fruits were not available certain times of the year where they are in other countries at that time so importers bring in those fruits or foodstuffs during those periods where it is out of season in America.

Countries like England and Japan have to import huge amounts of food as they cannot produce all they need to feed their people.  This is ok during the safe times but as happened in WW2 England was struggling to feed their people as trade was being hampered by the war.

You are correct though the world has become too dependent on cheap Chinese products and it is time people stopped just looking at the cheap price of Chinese goods and started to understand buying cheap Chinese goods is propping up a huge Chinese military and a less than trustworthy communist country that if not slowed down soon with cause many problems for other countries.  Already China is flexing its military muscle and it is time we started to manufacture our own goods again and accept we will have to pay more for them but the benefits are a much higher employment, a much stronger economy, better services for the people and a much stronger military to keep countries like China in their place and acting decently.  Isn't that worth paying more for a locally made product than watching you money go overseas to prop up a less than trustworthy government with a huge military.

Is the word 'hog' a jargon in agriculture?

    Favorite Answer:

Answers are more or less correct except for referring to "pigs". A pig has not yet been weaned. When weaned, it becomes a shoat. When adult, it becomes a hog, either a sow or a boar. A swine is any member of the family Suidae, not just Sus scrofa. While those last are not "common" words, they are understood internationally and are standard and unambiguous.
