I am 18 and taking classes nearby but I know one day I’m going to have to move out and I am scared because I barely know how to do anything my own. I don’t mean to sound spoiled or lazy, but I don’t know how to do basic stuff like cook or do the laundry or even clean efficiently because either my mom or her helpers did it. When I do want to learn, they don’t teach very well and i’m always told I am doing it wrong. I can make money and find jobs that’s fine, but I wouldn’t understand how to file taxes, get a loan, or get my own car insurance, etc. Googling/Youtube-ing on how to do everything is a bit of an overload. Any advice? Please nothing rude or obvious.

Best answer: The US has little or NO discipline in schools today. Some kids are bullied fro starting school in kindergarten thru 12th grade, Some on into college. This is the stress that makes some go over the edge. MOST teachers do nothing to stop bullying. Principals are worse. I taught school for 30 years. There was some blow-up between some blacks and some whites at the school. Black kids started wearing white shirts with sayings on them to "free the ..." blacks who were involved. White kids were suspended/expelled. The principal started taking the black instigators out for breakfast every monday morning.
Jocks have typically been bullies of other kids. All of this is just poor discipline in the school. Some kids pit up with it for 12+ years and then go on with life. Some are not able to cope with this unfair treatment, either bullying or unfair discipline from the school staff, and some of those kids kind of explode. --- The diversity in this country makes these acts more prevalent than they are in Japan, where there is almost NO diversity. Everybody looks the same, all are treated the same, etc.
==== I had a neighbor who was bullied in every grade 1 - 12, and in his 40's he could not talk about school without great animosity toward coaches, principals, jocks and other bullies. Fortunately he did not take a gun to school, but I still wonder why. (I am about 15 years older that he and did not know him while this was going on.)

I come from a rather religious family. My father was going to be a priest and my mother just simply likes to go and be involved. I myself have been taught about the Bible since I was very young, starting around the preschool age, as my parents are very religious, I've gone to church for as long as I can remember, and I've been enrolled in every godforsaken church class/prayer group under the sun. But I absolutely cannot stand church. I understand all of the lessons, but I absolutely despise the blatant hypocrisy that the church rails on and on about, about how god loves everyone and then they go on and screech about how certain people are going to hell, as if they have the jurisdiction to determine that. It's boring- they say the same **** over and over again as if praying will actually change what's wrong with the world rather than wasting an hour doing jack ****. I'm pretty much an atheist, all the religious **** I've been through has made me that way if I'm being honest, but I feel if I'm going to find God, it's going to be on my own terms, not sitting in some stuffy room listening to a man wheedle on about god for an hour and about how we're all going to go to hell if we don't do this or that. But how do I tell my parents about this? I've tried numerous times before but they constantly insist that i go with them to church, and everytime I go the less religious I become, but I don't know how to communicate this to them without them losing their marbles. What should I do?
