• Is it easy to travel from Los Angeles, CA to Rome, Italy?

One of my biggest lifetime goals is to visit Rome. I'm not rich, but I'm not poor either. I won't give my exact age, but I'm in my teens. How easy would it be for me to make it to Rome?

  • Are Italian town squares full of raping, illegal refugees now?

Best answer: Yes, of course. The mainstream media actually don't even mention them, in order to keep people calm. But every day the so called "refugees" rape and kill and steal. Every, I mean, every f*cking city, town, or village is full of criminals.

  • Is Italy safe now for women and girls , with all the new alien arrivals bought in by the Italian navy from the Med?

Best answer: I'm an Italian woman living in Italy, it depends on the place, the city. I live in a quiet village in Piedmont, life is still very safe here, I've spent my Summer holidays on Veneto's beaches and it was safe for me and all tourists.
In many beaches of Veneto (not al, though) there is a large measure of control by police who stops every morning all immigrants who want to enter beaches to sell their things to bother people who want to relax themselves.
However, and it makes me feel very sad, it's true that life in my country isn't safe anymore like a few years ago.
I was a teenager in the 90s and I used to take the train alone to visit my relatives who live 300 kilometers away my village, I always felt very comfortable and safe. No one has ever sexually harrased me. Today I'm afraid to take the train, whether I'm alone or with my husband. There are a lot of African gangs who take our trains without paying the ticked, they stab ticket inspectors if he's a man and sexually harrass them if she's a woman.
Bad things have happened to some girls and their boyfriends in my main city and I don't feel safe anymore.

PS: as far as someone else's answer is concerned, pickpockets aren't the biggest problem in Italy, they're just in some biggest cities like Rome and Venice and not in other big cities, for example in Turin there aren't pickpockets. In Stresa there aren't pickpockets. And pickpockets in Italy have always been gypsies.

Best answer: There is certainly a wall around Vatican City, the only part of the Vatican which allows access to the general public is St. Peter's Basilica and St. Peter's Square. Good luck trying to get anywhere else without permission as there are certainly checkpoints, though these are discrete. The Swiss Guard are a high end military force. All are ex-Swiss army so are highly trained, and their force also provides the Pope's plain clothed security guard. The Vatican does not state whether or not the Swiss Guard are armed, but I'd be surprised if they weren't. The Vatican also has a fully armed police force.

Your friend probably only visited the Basilica and perhaps the Vatican Museums, but there is a lot more to the Vatican than that. Have a look at Vatican City on Google Earth.
