• Should I continue to be vegetarian?

I've been pescatarian ever since I was 13 for ethical reasons and I've always said that when I turned 18 I would become a full vegetarian. However, whilst I was a pescatarian I become anemic due to being deficient in vitamin D, B12 and Iron. I took tablets and recovered. However, when I turned 18 and became vegetarian I started to get symptoms of Anemia again (easy brushing, dizziness, fatigue...). I don't want to go back on my word and I want to be a vegetarian for ethical reasons, however I don't want to risk my health. What do you think?

The public library has a whole shelf of books about being vegetarian. There are also plenty of documentaries. I've been reading and watching movies about healthy diets for 20 years. Its not a fad diet. There have been vegetarians for over 5000 years. Something like a third of India is vegetarian. And I suppose there are a few, but most doctors have nothing bad to say about being vegetarian. More than a few recommend it.

  • What is the most ridiculous excuse people have given you for why they can't go vegan?

Best answer: "I like my leather shoes"
"I like my shampoo / toothpaste which is tested on monkeys"
    "I like my leather chairs"
"I sometimes take painkillers which have been tested on animals"
But off course, as we all know, none of the above applies to vegans, right?

  • How long do I cook this in SLOW-COOKER? Nobody has answered?

Best answer: Low heat for 4 hrs should be plenty, everything in there is already cooked except the potatoes and other fresh veggies. You could leave it up to 6 hrs but it would be done at 4. I prefer the low setting and a longer time rather than the high setting. The whole point of a slow cooker is cooking low and slow.
