• What kind of doctor do I need to see for this injury?

Hello! So I play water polo and I’m a swimmer and basically I’m pretty sure it’s my rotator cuff that’s been in a lot of pain. What kind of doctor would I need to go see for this? Thanks guys!

  • What's causing my joint pain?

Best answer: It's that shot. Fairly common side effect. Please google it and find out more about it.
One suggestion: Anytime a group of symptoms start to show up, think about what you've changed--your meds, diet, a strenuous exercise program, etc.

  • Is this a vein burst? Or a hernia?

Best answer: NEITHER, bcuz that's normal. The appearance of a vein is meaningless. They constantly change due to blood pressure, temperature, amount of fluid in your system, emotions, etc.

Best answer: That's a horrible idea. Don't do this. Try faking the stomach flu instead.

  • Is this bad?

    Is this bad?

Best answer: I bet you didn't win this 'conflict' No need to go to doctor unless you have symptoms of concussion. You got banged up pretty good. You need to ice that knot on your forhead. You also should ice that swelling on your eye. But you already have a nasty blackeye anyway so not that it's gonna help you.... show more

Best answer: Speaking from experience of having had a traumatic brain injury during my birth that damaged my right temporal lobe, dude, yes, you have a brain injury. If you hit the side of your head just behind the ear, you likely damaged your temporal lobe. The irritability and bad behavior is likely oppositional defiant disorder, something I had as well which is commonly caused by brain damage to the temporal lobe. And the blackouts are likely seizures caused by the injury. Since you are not dead, the injury likely recovered by turning into scar tissue and that is causing abnormal brainwaves which is causing epilepsy(your seizures) like it did for me. I also experienced odd sleep patterns, but I had difficulty falling asleep. Don't have answer for the pupil problem.

Ask your doctor if you can get an MRI done just to confirm it. If the specialist you are being sent to is a neurologist, your doc is on the same page as I am because neurologist can treat epilepsy.

Yes. You have an brain injury and need to get an MRI performed. It's very fun.

  • When do hospitals give you crutches?

I’ve recently gone over on my ankle, I went to the hospital in fear that it might be broken but they x-rayed it and said it’s just sprained. But I can hardly walk like I have to hold on to stuff around me to support myself enough to a couple of meters. My partner was surprised that they didn’t give me crutches.... show more

When I thought about it I know people that have sprained there ankle and only had a slight limp, so how do doctors/nurses decide when you need crutches?, coz it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Currently I’m 20 and I severely broke my arm around 5 months ago. I went to an orthopedist and he insisted that surgery wasn’t necessary and that I would heal with my arm casted. He put a full arm cast on me, from my fingers to my shoulder, and said come back in 6 weeks. 6 weeks came around I got another X-ray. he told me there was very little healing that took place, so he put me in another full arm cast and said come back in 8 weeks. During the next visit, he told me the same thing. It’s been cast after cast with this doctor for almost 6 MONTHS now!! A broken arm shouldn’t take this long to heal. Currently, my arm has gotten so skinny from the atrophy, it’s like a toothpick! Not to mention the foul smell that my cast gives off. The smell doesn’t bother me at all because I’m used to it but no one else can practically be in the same room as me! I’ve gotten so used to my cast that wearing it’s second nature to me now. Overall the cast doesn’t really bother me at the end of the day, as it’s pretty comfortable, so I don’t mind wearing it. However, I truly believe that I needed surgery in the first place and I’m not receiving the right treatment. My ortho keeps telling me that my arms eventually going to heal in a cast but I don’t see that happening. He’s refusing to take it off at all costs. I’m just worried about the long term effects of my arm being immobilized this long.
