PREFACE (i'm not asking for your opinion on the anger of my daughter as she has a panic attack disorder and she goes into angry panic attacks and blacks out and doesn't remember doing anything. finals have been causing her extreme stress causing these attacks to happen at least 2 times a day) her middle finger knuckle is extremely swollen and she describes it as feeling sore and being more painful when extending her and and clenching her fist but all her fingers are mobile. she has also complained about the wrist on that hand once saying it felt like when she sprained her ankle but it went away after 5 or so hours. we are taking her to urgent care tomorrow but i'm wondering if its worth it or not to take her in. can blunt force over time cause a bone to break or could it just be small fractures?

  • Is it bad to cut the top of your arm?

This is for a health protect at school, don't worry I'm not cutting. If I were to cut the top of my arm, would that be dangerous? Like instead of the wrist, you cut the top of your arm. How bad is it? Are there any major veins/ arteries on the top?

So I was playing in a basketball game and this out of control player completely knocked me down. The lower part of my head (closer to my neck) hit the ground. I quickly stood up and for that brief moment, I was dizzy. I imediently went to the bench where I kind of gathered myself for a minute or two. There was not a trainer on site to check me out. My vision was normal and I understood what was going on. I stood up, walked around a little bit to find I was not dizzy anymore. I even jogged a little bit and physically felt just fine. I went back in the game and played the rest of the time. The game just finished and my head is ok. It feels uncomfortable at the back of my head (where it hit the floor) but not anywhere else. I’m not confused and my vision is normal. I’m just worried that I have a concussion. I’ve read one thing online that says symptoms can occur many hours later so I’m trying to continually make sure I’m ok... Do you think I have a concussion? I’ll provide more details if you need it, just comment below...

I have a very unstable right ankle, from a multitude of sprains, the ligaments are just ruined. As a result I need the support of shoes on uneven surfaces especially but my jobs policy is no shoes and has been for the past 2 1/2 years. Yet I have been wearing my shoes since my first injury at work with no bother from anyone. A new manager has come in and taken it upon himself to be the new shoe regulator, I have continued to wear my shoes, as fear for injury to my ankle again, but now find myself under investigation. I am having physio and hope to regain enough strength and confidence in the ankle to not require constant support. I can t wear a support under my socks as it slips making it more dangerous for my ankle. If I take note from the doctor explain the problem, will I receive backlash from my workplace?

  • My back just popped and now I can't move at all?

Best answer: sitting probably isn't helping the matter. Grab some Ibuprofen and an ice pack, and lay down. The sooner you deal with the inflammation that is pressing on the nerve, the better off you will be.

Best answer: It could be normal, but if it's bothersome and you can afford it, you should schedule an appointment with a doctor.

Best answer: Why is there shame in wearing a wrist bandage for an injury? If that is the truth, so be it. If others shame you, the shame is on them for their lack of forgiveness or compassion for your pain. Get the bandage and wear it as you need it, do not make a big deal about it yourself. If they ask, give them a simple answer that you injured it and let that be the end of the topic. If they ask more questions, explain that your injury is your own business and not theirs. If they shame you, then you know the lack of compassion in their hearts and make the knowledge of their lack of compassion as "Square 1" in how you treat them in return. But wear the bandage. My sister did not properly bandage her finger and as a result it healed wrong and she now needs an operation to fix it right, where if she had worn the proper bandage it would have healed right in the first place. Do this as you need and if you have people shaming you for your pain, ask to be transferred to a different school. Good luck, but wear the bandage and heal properly, as this is most important for your own body.

  • Are cigarette burns permanent?

Best answer: Yes. Because they go through all layers of the skin, it will cause a small but very identifiable scar that lasts.

All of the airbags in my car were deployed. I felt fine, but the paramedics insisted in taking me in on a crash cart. Anyways, i was driven to a med center and stayed there for 3-4 hrs and was given the full works (iv drips, finger prick, ct scan, etc). I guess i was a bit in shock because i felt mentally fine, but my body was shaking for 2 hrs after the accident. Anyways, they gave me the okay to leave and found nothing wrong. I felt fine except for some minor discomfort on my left side whenever i sneezed, coughed, or twisted my torso to my right. The morning after, the symptoms increased and i felt mildly worse.

  • What does it mean when I had a fall from bed, hit my head really hard, injured, tell my family and all they do is laugh?

Best answer: I wouldn't have thought it was funny, people are insensitive.
You need to see a doctor, you could have a concussion which has long term effects on your health and can cause problems later on down the road, as well as bleeding on the brain, both serious.

I have a small indent on the back of my head that I just now noticed. Is it a vitamin deficiency? It doesn’t hurt. But sometimes I feel pressure by my temples.
