Yesterday they had a fight, and it was in front of me. I was at her bf's house as he got ready for his team's final. My sister had been sulking because he'd bought her some gift she didn't like. Anyway, just as we were all getting ready to go, my sister said she would stay at home and watch TV. Her bf looked stunned and said no way. She said there was a TV program she wanted to watch, and she wouldn't go. After five minutes of her being stubborn, he slapped her across the face. It wasn't super-hard, but it was sharp and purposeful, and shut her up instantly. I tried to move in, and he said 'Unless you want one too, stay out of this." He looked angry, so I quietly sat down. My sister, clutching her face, apologised to him. And he gave her a kiss and they made up, and she agreed to go with him. I told her later she should leave him and she was angry with me, saying it was obviously her fault and the slap brought her to her senses, and she loved him 'more than before'. I would confront her boyfriend, but I'm scared he really will slap me and tell me to stay out of it. What should I do, she's an adult?

Now that my sisters and brothers are all over 18 they still live with my mom, but contribute hardly anything to help out with the house. I am pretty much moved out, but still depended on a lot. I pay all thier utilities and a one car payment, plus my own stuff. Sometime my boyfriend gets upset that I don t come home after work. I ll go to my moms house to help run errands and stuff. However most weekends my boyfriend and I spend together. Sometimes I feel like I m being pulled in two different directions, and it s starting to break me down. Any advice????

I tried to escape from her clutches several times, but it was extremely hard... almost impossible. When she was pinching me and pushing me around, I decided to take action. I elbowed her in the chest and she fell to the floor. I went upstairs and and I laughed. But a couple of minutes later, our mum came up and started shouting at me. She accused me of "resorting to violence" and she said "you're nothing but a bully". She said that my sister is the true victim in all of this and that I should be ashamed of myself for how I handled it. She said that if I don't apologise to her I will be grounded me. I refused to apologise to her because I believe she deserved she everything she got. My mum grounded me for 2 weeks and apparently I "deserved it". Did I deserve the grounding? Did I handle the situation the right way?

My cousins who I love spending time with that I never get to see are coming to my state for a couple days and I'm gonna miss TWO days I could spend with them for this stupid camp, and ill get like 2 or 3 days with them, and my parents knew this too and still signed me up. I shouldn't be forced into this? Am I wrong to be upset?

  • My mom got divorced and remarried. How long will it take to change my last name to her new husband's last name? He is now my dad?

Best answer: You would need your biological father's permission to change your name unless you have been legally adopted. Otherwise you would need to wait until you are 18. A name change only takes a couple of weeks after you file for it in most places.

My stepfather has begun to slap my butt with whatever is in his hands and he always does it when my mom isn't around or not looking. He's made plenty of sexual jokes around me in the past and talks about how big my butt is. My mom just laughs when she hears him say that because she thinks he's joking but she doesn't know about him touching me. Is it something to do something about? I'm starting to get scared and really, really uncomfortable.

Ok so when she was younger I suppose I did mistreat her badly. Cuz sometimes she would just disappoint me. I used to hit her and yell at her quite often, I'm not really like that anymore. Ever since, she's always preferred her dad. I thought she would grow out of that eventually but she never did. She's now 14. When she wants something she asks her dad to buy it, never asks me. He doesn't spoil her tho. When she outgrows clothes she asks him to take her shopping rather than me. I have bought her a few things, she seems happy but nothing much. When it's just me and her in the house she barely comes out of her room, only to eat and use the bathroom, barely talks with me. Her dad gets home from work and she comes out of her room and hugs him, but when I get home she just says "hi". I do admit I do get a little jealous at times cuz she always prefers him. The only thing she doesn't ask him is to buy her pads for her period, I'm assuming all she does is use toilet paper or ignore it. Cuz I've never seen any of my products 'disappear'. And I've told her she can use mine but she wont. I've asked her why she ignores me but she doesn't want to talk about it and leaves the room. My husband is a little upset with me for doing that to her before but I told him I don't do that anymore. I don't think she hates that much cuz she does smile at me, rarely tho..Why is she ignoring me so much tho? How do I get her to like me again? Thx

No, not Cher lloyed, Cher and in Sonny and Cher that MY mother used to listen to, and the same Madonna that everyone used to try to dress up like when I was a teen. She has naturally brown hair, and when she was 11, I let her get beautiful blonde highlights, but last year she decided she wanted 'Cher hair' and now has long, black hair. She never does anything with her friends, but perfers to talk to a bunch of Cher fans on Twitter, and Cher tweets them all and that is literally her world. Instead of wanting to stay here, in Canada and get a normal job, like all of her friends, she studies extra hard just so she can hopefully get into a university in California so she can try to become an actress and go to Uni there to be a lawyer if that doesn't work. Instead of wearing normal things like her friends, she wears high heels, leather and jeans. She is also a vegetarian, which I hate. Why can't she just eat meat like the rest of us? Please just tell me what I can do? She won't listen to me!

Without ranting and creating a ton for you to read I'll just say that I respect her as my husband's mother but she does not respect me or her own son esp her grandkids. She tries to control everything from everything involving our special needs boys (3 boys) she goes through our mail, phone, and any papers she can find just to nose in and run her mouth to those who gossip. She is living with us for free, doesn't do anything to help around here and is constantly arguing. When we said she has till Sept 1st the family is acting like we are the bad guy here. Which brings me to my question, are we doing the right thing by telling her she has to leave? we have had multiple talks about boundaries and our expectations, she just doesn't care and does what she feels like doing
