• Fishing rod problems.(I’m new to this)?

Hey! So I’m pretty new to fishing and I had gotten a rod because I wanted to fish more often. Earlier today I was showing my girlfriend how to cast and one of the joints had slipped out and sent one half of the rod flying. It had just slipped out, nothing broken on it. Is this a normal thing? Earlier today I was showing my girlfriend how to cast and one of the joints had slipped out and sent one half of the rod flying. It had just slipped out, nothing broken on it. Is this a normal thing? Should it be able to do that or should I glue it? And if anything will it still be good to fish with? Thank you for any response!

  • Did men in WW2 ever make makeshift fishing rods to fish?

Best answer: Yes: Us kids on the reservation make our out of small trees, tie a line to the end and fish much like a cane pole. Some did it to pass the time others to get food!

  • Our family is having a "fish" themed gift exchange. What are some out of the box ideas?

One person likes open sea fishing and the other doesn't fish at all. The gift just has to be fish related. So, something like caviar could work as well as fishing lures. Looking for something really cool or funny. I don't want to get something boring like a tackle box or a hat. Any ideas?

  • I don t like fishing and I m not very good at it. Should I keep doing it? Should I keep at something I hate passionately?

It may sound like a silly question. But I m serious. I have friends who swear by fishing and say that nothing beats it. I go with them from time to time, but I never catch anything, and I find the whole thing frustrating. But when I tell my friends this, they look at me like I m from the moon and tell me that... show more

  • What happens if a fish swallows a hook?

Best answer: Nothing if you plan to eat the fish. If your plan to release it might be a different story. I carry a pair of the longest needle nose pliers that I can find and attempt to dislodge the hook. If unable I just cut the line and generally the hook will dissolve.

Some places you can fish without a rod/reel or net without a licence and others you can't.

Typically people use a technique called 'Noodling', rather that going through the process of growing out their nails, learning to use a hang glider and then skimming over the oceans to find a fish within reach and catching with said toe nails, which would probably break from the impact or weight of a fish.
