  • Would you take in an abandoned baby?

There is a knock at your door in the middle of the night. You go downstairs to see who could be bothering you at this hour, only to find a cooing bundle of cloth in a basket. A baby has been abandoned on your doorstep with a note "Please give my baby the good home I never could." What do you do?

For some reason she has a real thing about being on the outside of my clothes, she always wants to be tucked inside my jacket or top, rather than outside of them. If I do carry her outside of my clothes she will pull my top down constantly... Which can obviously be quite embarrassing in public!! When I put her inside my jacket, she helps herself to my boobs and nurses the whole time I am carrying her... Also not the most appealing thing to be doing in public. If I put her in a pushchair she just screams!! I need to figure out another way to take her out in public without drama! Any ideas?

  • My cousins baby was born full term with hydrocephalus, they said they can't give him a shunt, why?

Best answer: Without knowing the full story, no one can answer this. My guess would be the little one's brain isn't developed enough for a shunt to have any impact on his survival. I'm very sorry to hear it. : ( Edited to add - chances are you being born at six months is one thing that led to your survival - you... show more

  • Wife always sleeps with our baby on her instead of the crib.?

Feel like this is only going to cause problems with him sleeping on his own eventually. She gets mad when I tell her, "put him in the crib he's getting to big to be on you every night." no matter how many times I say it she never does it. She's got this baby phobia and feels like he needs to be on her all the time. Like something is going to happen when he's in the crib but yet nothing ever does when I move him. 8 months old is to big to be laying on you every night or am I wrong?

  • What birthing position is least likely to cause tearing?

On the back is the worst. Is it better to have a baby on all fours or squatting or on your side? I'm having a natural birth and don't want to be stitched up.

  • When you feel sorrow..do you remember ..that you have experienced joy,and will again?

Best answer: Yes, I try to. Negative emotions seem to demand to be felt and can seem all-encompassing in the moment but you can't let them overwhelm you. Change is one of the only constants in the universe and even the darkest shadow will eventually pass.

This is a question mainly about the reason why, i think i know but lets pretend i don't. I was working in the hospital the other evening and a young mother comes in, her baby is 6 months and has a hurt (it was broken) finger. She's trying to explain to me through her tears that her baby had her finger caught in the door. Nothing out of te orodinary for the reaction of the baby. This is the first mother that has cried at my desk though, the baby was quiet at the time of triage. I guess the mother feels guilty. She said "i'm terrible" so i want opinions. She feels guilty right like she feels it's her fault?

  • My son has been with me every single day since he was born. He just turned 1 year old and will be staying with my mom. Will he remember me?

He is only staying with her for about 6 months and I will get to see him once every few months. Will he still know I'm his mom and remember me? We've nursed everyday until now also and he was forced to stop since I can't take care of him right now.
